Bob Newhart, aka George Robert Newhart, is an American Comedian and actor. He showed his presence as an actor in Big Band Theory, Legally Blonde 2, and more. I am more familiar with his Character from the sitcom The Big Bang Theory.
He started his career as a stand-up comedian and then ventured into acting roles. The 93-year-old Newhart is known for his deadpan and stammering delivery style, something that acts like his trademark. He is also known for his gentle behavior and satire, and humor.
He is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and even a Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2002.

Career and Life of Bob Newhart
Bob Newhart was born to a middle-class family in Chicago. His parents were housewife Julia Paulinea and the owner of a plumbing and heating-supply business, George David Newhart. He was into acting while he was in high school, but instead of going to an arts college, he did accounting at Loyola College.
He served in the army for two years and participated in the Korean War as a personnel manager. According to reports, he also attended the Loyola University Chicago School of Law but left it before completion because he was asked to behave unethically during an internship.
He also did a bunch of jobs before he went on to stand-up comedy and acting. He worked as a bookkeeper, etc. In 1958 he worked as an advertising copywriter for Fred A. Niles, who was a very famous independent film producer. He then worked for Warner Brothers Records.
On The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart (1960), Bob Newhart enacted a series of one-sided conversations, and this album became a hit due to his natural affinity to comedy and his talent.
The album became the first comedy recording to hit number one on Billboard, which is a huge achievement as we know it. It also won the 1961 Grammy Award for Album of the Year and reached number two on the UK Albums Chart.
Following the success of the album, a sequel or follow-up was released under the title The Button-Down Mind Strikes Back, which won the best comedy performance award- spoken word.

Coming to acting, he made his appearance on various films and TV shows like Insight, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, Murphy Brown, The Simpsons, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, etc. He won a prime-time Emmy for his appearance in The Big Bang Theory, and thus he made a reappearance in other seasons.
The list of films he made an appearance in includes Hell Is for Heroes(1968), On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970), The Rescuers(1977), Cold Turkey, Elf (2003), Horrible Bosses (2011), Catch 22, etc. He also had two long-running sitcoms, The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart.
