BIGHIT MUSIC is ready to launch its next big act, and the anticipation is sky-high. On July 14, 2025, the HYBE Labels subsidiary officially announced the debut of a brand-new five-member boy group, marking its first idol group launch since TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) in 2019.

This new team of rising stars—Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho—will debut on August 18, 2025.

With the legacy of BTS and TXT behind them, these five teens are stepping into the spotlight with not only the weight of expectation but also a revolutionary concept: they are co-creators, not just performers.

A New Kind of Idol Group: Co-Creators, Not Categories

Rather than following the traditional idol group format—where each member sticks to a defined role like rapper, vocalist, or dancer—this group is being introduced as a “young creator crew.”

Each member will participate in producing music, choreographing performances, and even directing visual content.

According to BIGHIT MUSIC, the group will draw heavily from their personal stories and artistic voices, aiming to build a new generation of K-pop that’s grounded in authenticity, innovation, and youth-led creativity.

This team’s identity isn’t rooted in performance polish alone but in collaborative artistry, a concept that feels especially fresh in a K-pop industry traditionally defined by tight structure and hierarchy.

Meet the Members: Teen Talents with Industry Credentials

Despite their youth, the members of the group are far from rookies behind the scenes.

Two of the members, Martin and James, have already contributed to multiple HYBE artists’ works—including some of the biggest hits of recent years.

Martin is credited as a co-composer or lyricist on tracks such as:

  • TXT’s “Deja Vu,” “Miracle,” and “Beautiful Strangers”
  • ENHYPEN’s “Outside”
  • LE SSERAFIM’s “Pierrot”
  • ILLIT’s viral hit “Magnetic”

James, on the other hand, has worked on the choreography for songs including:

  • TXT’s “Deja Vu”
  • ILLIT’s “Magnetic” and “Cherish (My Love)”
  • LE SSERAFIM’s “Tick-Tack”

The pair also collaborated on songwriting and production for several of these tracks.

These pre-debut achievements signal that this is not just another boy group—they are truly creators and performers, merging skill sets usually separated between idols and behind-the-scenes professionals.

The other members, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho, are equally poised to make their mark. While BIGHIT has not yet detailed their specific contributions, industry insiders suggest all five members have trained in multiple artistic areas—including videography, editing, digital art, and concept design.

An Exciting Shift in K-pop’s Creative Culture

The concept of idols taking more creative control isn’t entirely new—many K-pop artists write or co-write their music—but debuting a group with co-creation as its foundational identity is a bold step.

With HYBE’s track record of cultivating artists who connect deeply with fans through storytelling, it’s no surprise that this new group emphasizes authenticity.

Their journey as artists who not only perform but shape their own content could be a major turning point in the evolution of the idol system.

Also, this aligns with the current industry trend: younger fans are increasingly drawn to idols who are multi-dimensional creators, not just polished entertainers.

This model resonates particularly well with global Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences, who value individuality, transparency, and creativity.

What to Expect on August 18

Though the official group name and debut album details are still under wraps, fans are already buzzing with excitement.

BIGHIT has promised that teaser content, behind-the-scenes footage, and performance previews will start rolling out soon, building anticipation leading up to the August 18 debut.

Given BIGHIT MUSIC’s high standards and the remarkable pre-debut resumes of Martin and James, fans and industry watchers are expecting a bold musical direction, genre-blending performances, and visually innovative storytelling.

It also raises curiosity—will this group lean more into the experimental spirit of TXT, or chart an entirely new course?

Legacy, Expectations, and the Future of K-pop

Debuting under the same label that launched BTS, the world’s biggest boy band, and TXT, known for their trendsetting visuals and sound, the pressure on this new group is undeniable.

However, the strategic approach—focusing on individual creativity, collaboration, and personal storytelling—could help them carve out a niche that distinguishes them from their legendary predecessors.

This new boy group could usher in a wave of artist-driven idol teams and redefine what it means to debut in K-pop.
