Kang Yoon-sung’s latest drama, Big Bet, will soon continue airing the rest of the episodes starting this week. Focusing on the life of Cha Mu-sik, this show is a story of how he rises to the top of the underworld after losing all the money he has collected over the years.
Being a strategic casino owner, Cha Mu-sik had tonnes of money in his bank account, but when trouble knocks on his door, he ends up being caught in a mess, which leaves him with an empty pocket. Despite the hurdles, Mu-sik manages to build a strong empire once again, using his intelligence and experience.
The drama premiered on Television just earlier this month on December 21st, 2022. It aired the first three episodes altogether and now will air new episodes each week. Big Bet has been ordered for about eight episodes and will complete airing the first season by March 2023.
Since Big Bet has scenes that take place between Korea and the Philippines, the filming began in February this year, and the scenes in the Philippines were filmed first. The crew then shifted to Korea and finally completed the shooting by August. The reason behind this is that the character that Choi Min-Sik portrays is inspired by an iconic casino owner from the Philippines.
