Reality TV star and entrepreneur Bethenny Frankel has finally broken her silence about the 10-year-long legal battle with her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy.
In the premiere episode of her new podcast, Just B Divorced, the former Real Housewives of New York star shared an emotional and raw account of the turmoil she endured throughout the divorce process, describing it as the most traumatizing experience of her life.
Frankel, 53, revealed that she has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a result of the drawn-out court battle over custody of their daughter, Bryn, who is now 13.
She compared her divorce to a mental and emotional war, claiming it was even more torturous than mourning the death of a loved one.
“I’ve been burned. I have massive trust issues, and I have post-traumatic stress disorder. It was literally the most traumatizing thing I will hopefully ever go through in my life.”

The Skinnygirl mogul detailed the manipulation and emotional abuse she endured during the years-long fight, recalling times when she felt powerless and completely broken.
She alleged that she experienced fraud, forgery, being followed, and even allegedly being hacked—all of which left her questioning herself as a mother and a person.

Frankel and Hoppy were married for only two years before announcing their split in 2012. They reached a financial settlement in 2016, but legal battles over custody continued for years, with the divorce not being finalized until 2021.
That same year, Frankel won full legal and primary residential custody of Bryn and was relieved of any obligation to pay child support to Hoppy.
The prolonged legal battle has also impacted her current relationship with her fiancé, Paul Bernon. Frankel admitted that the trauma from her previous marriage has made her hesitant about walking down the aisle again.
“I’m not sure if I would ever get married again.”

Now, Frankel is finally ready to share her side of the story. She announced that her podcast will feature a series of episodes where she will go into further detail about what led to the decade-long divorce, the battles she fought in court, and how she managed to come out the other side.
