Lee Jong Suk is celebrating his 32 birthday today, and hence, we decided to share the list of the best dramas from Lee Jong Suk. The freshly turned 32-year old is famous for his impressive facial structure and striking beauty. Apart from this, Lee Jong Suk has managed to gather fangirls from all across the globe. As a result, the actor definitely tops the ‘Favorite Oppa’ lists of many. However, his looks are not the only best quality. The Pinocchio actor has proved multiple times that he is one of the best South Korean actors. His projects- dramas and films- are undoubtedly a hit. Lee Jong Suk was born on September 14, 1989, in Yongin, South Korea. The actor and model made his debut with the short film Sympathy, which came out in 2005. But, did you know that besides being an incredible actor and model, Lee Jong Suk was also a rapper under SM Entertainment? Lee was a rapper in an idol group, ‘ Real,’ but he quit after three years.

1. Romance Is a Bonus Book

Romance Is a Bonus Book was Lee’s last project before his departure to the Military. But, the actor made sure to present his fans with one of the best dramas from his career. The 2019 romantic comedy-drama displays the story between Cha Eun Ho (Lee Jong-Suk) and Kang Dan-Yi (Lee Na-Young).  Cha Eun Ho is the youngest and most handsome editor-in-chief in a publishing company. Meanwhile, Kang Dan-Yi used to be a famous copywriter, but now she is divorced, living as a single mother.

In order to get a job badly, Kang Dan-Yi lies about her background and gets a position in Cha Eun-Ho’s company. However, the two have an old connection, and a romance develops as they get to know each other. The other characters play an equally important role in elevating the romance, while some try to break Eun-Ho and Dan-Yi apart. Between all of this, Romance is a Bonus Book that will make you laugh and fall in love with books.

2. Pinocchio

We cannot design a list of ‘Lee Jong Suk Best Drama’ and not include Pinocchio. The 2014 drama allowed us to see Jong-Suk as a shabby yet intelligent journalist. Lee plays Choi Da-Po, an average-looking but intelligent and sharp rookie journalist. On the other Park Shin Hye stars as Choi In-Ha, the idealistic journalist of the company. Acting as a superior, her team of rookie employees includes Choi Da-Po, Seo Bum Jo, and Yoon Yoo Rae. With love blossoming between Choi Da-Po and Choi In-Ha, events from the past lead the two journalists to scrape more about their connection as they work hard to unravel important stories.

Park Shin-Hye and Lee Jong-Suk’s collaboration for the lead couple won many hearts and awards. Hence, you cannot afford to miss Pinocchio. From the writing to acting to its OST, Pinocchio is undoubtedly one of the best dramas from South Korea.

The script is written by Park Hye Run (Start-up, I Hear Your Voice). And the direction credits go to Jo Soo-Won (Awaken, Thirty But Seventeen). You can watch Pinocchio on Netflix, Rakuten Viki, WeTV, Apple TV, and on SBS.

3. While You Were Sleeping

While You Were Sleeping is the most unique drama you can ever come across. Two people- Nam Hong Ju (Bae Suzy) and Jung Jae Chan (Lee Jong Suk) develop the ability to know about the good and bad things which will happen in the future. Jung Chae-In is a rookie prosecutor. Meanwhile, Nam Hong Ju runs a small restaurant with her mom.

One day, Jung Jae Chan, who lives across from Hong Ju’s house, has a premonition that she will get into an accident. However, he also sees that Lee Yoo Beom, a cruel attorney, will also be a part of the mishap. While trying to save Hong-Ju, Jae-chan ends up saving Han Woo Tak, a young police officer, as well. After the incident, the three start having dreams about each other and conclude that their lives have been entwined somehow. The story moves forward as the three began to adjust to their new lives. Also, you will get to see Bae Suzy and Jong-Suk’s beautiful romance. So, don’t miss out. It is available on Netflix, Viki, WeTV, and Apple TV.

While You Were Sleeping drama is also written by Park Hye Run. However, it is directed by Oh Choong Hwan (Hotel Del Luna, My Love From The Star). Fun Fact: Oh Choong-Hwan is also directing the upcoming Lee Jong Suk drama Big Mouth.

4. W

Do you like comics? Do you like webtoons? Do you like Lee Jong Suk? Then make sure to watch W. Just like the title, the drama’s storyline is also unique. The drama begins with Oh Yeon Joo (Han Hyun Joo) getting into a real webtoon world after looking for her father. As soon as she enters the webtoon world, W, she finds a man covered in blood. Later, she gets to knows that Kang Cheol (Lee Jong Suk) is the lead character of his father’s webtoon. Furthermore, the only way for her to return to the real world depends on Kang Cheol’s feelings. Jeong Dae Yun (She was Pretty, I’m Not A Robot) helmed the drama, and Song Jae Jung (Memories of Alhambra) wrote the screenplay.

W: Two Worlds

What will happen when a human interacts with a webtoon character? The story unfolds as Oh Yeon Joo and Kang Cheol get to know each other. More characters increase the fun in the show with their roles. You can watch the show here on Netflix. 

 5. School 2013

We had to include School 2013 in the list. The drama brought Lee Jong Suk to the limelight and was also the drama that got him the ‘Best New Actor Award. The “School” series is one of the most popular drama franchises in South Korea, and many stars wish to star in the leading role. With Kim Woo-bin acting as the second lead, Lee Jong Suk portrayed the role of a messy school teenager perfectly. Although the show focused on two other males, Lee Jong Suk made sure to attract all the attention.

For his role in School 2013, Lee Jong Suk was included in the list of “Actors who lip up 2013.” Therefore, School 2013 is a must if you are a true Lee Jong Suk fan. Also, it’s good to start from the beginning. Jung Na Ra also stars in the drama.

Consisting of six episodes, The Hymn Of Death is another drama on this list. Filled with emotions, the drama is based on the true story of Kim Woo Jin and Yun Shim Deok. Lastly, we have I Hear Your Voice, which is another hit from Lee Jong Suk. The actor plays Park Soo Ha, s a 19-year old boy who can read minds. The mystery thriller will blow your mind with its unique plot, great acting, and excellent music.
