Ben Folds and his fifth wife, Emma Sandall, have finalized their divorce after six years of marriage. Court documents reveal that Ben Folds filed for divorce in December.
The pair has cited irreconcilable differences, with the separation date listed as November 20, 2023. According to the legal papers, Ben Folds has been ordered to make various financial payments to Sandall.
This includes $650,000 in equal monthly installments over two years, $210,000 in Australian currency from a National Australian Bank account, and the transfer of ownership of a 2016 Honda CR-V.
Additionally, he is required to cover Sandall’s car insurance for a year and provide $50,000 for furnishing her future residence.
Folds is also obligated to pay Sandall $475,000 for her share of their Nashville home, with Sandall relinquishing her rights to the property upon receipt of the funds. The couple exchanged vows in a Hawaiian ceremony.
This marks Ben Folds’ fifth marriage, following previous unions with Anna Goodman, Kate Rosen, Frally Hynes (with whom he shares twins Gracie and Louie), and Fleur Folds.
Ben Folds has yet to comment on the divorce publicly. However, the timing is notable as it coincides with his upcoming Paper Airplanes Request Tour, scheduled to commence in three months, where fans can request songs for live performances via paper airplanes.
