It’s been almost three months since the latest movie in the Bad Boys series, “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” hit theaters. However, audiences are still excited about the film. The Columbia Pictures movie continues to do well internationally, earning $1 million this weekend in 53 countries, which brings its international total to $205.3 million.
The new total means the movie has made $398.2 million worldwide. In the U.S., the film had steady earnings with $390,000 on Friday, $540,000 on Saturday, and an expected $345,000 on Sunday from over 1,000 theaters. The total for the weekend is estimated to be around $1.27 million, bringing the U.S. total to $191.743 million.
“Ride or Die” has been the biggest release in recent months. But with the release of “Deadpool & Wolverine” last week, the movie’s numbers are slowing down.
Despite this, “Ride or Die” has had a successful run, with a 97% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes and positive feedback from fans. The film has also helped the franchise reach a big milestone: $1 billion in global box office earnings.
The franchise’s global box office revenue was over $1 billion
The film follows detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) as they work to protect Miami. This time, they are trying to clear the name of their late Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano), who has become involved in a dangerous cartel.
Although the film is still doing well, it is not as successful as its predecessor, which earned over $400 million. “Bad Boys: For Life” was a big surprise after a 17-year break from the series. “Ride or Die” is successful because it embraces the aging of its main characters and the challenges they face after many years on the job, making it an exciting watch.
“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” is still showing in some theaters and available on VOD. You can find tickets for local showings below.
