Before the anime went on hiatus, Ayakashi Triangle Episode 4 was released which was titled “The Melancholy of the Ayakashi Medium,” and the episode saw Matsuri and Suzu talking about the Akayashi and Excorising them. The latter has become very interested in the Akayashi and their exorcisms and is willing to learn more about them.
As they discuss it, their school bus arrives and they board it. At the school, Suzu and Matsuri are dragged into normal conversation with their fellow students as they discuss TV drama. However, Matsuri isn’t fond of the TV drama and even leaves after being annoyed by Yayo.
However, Suzu reminds Matsuri to behave and intend to meet Yayo again only to find her petting Shirogane as he is disguised as a cat. Seeing Shirogane annoys Matsuri but Yayo thinks it is due to her Matsuri is acting like that. Later, Shirogane reveals that an Ayakashi has possessed Yayo which makes Suzu and Matsuri to rescue her from the spirits.
Matsuri is successful in excorsising the spirit with his powers and he eventually saves Yayo and even calls her a friend removing all the doubts in the latter’s mind about their friendship.
