As the seasons begin to shift, Atarayo returns with a new emotionally resonant single, “Spring Is Coming (春となり).”

The track appears as an insert song in the nationwide theatrical release of The Dangers in My Heart (僕の心のヤバイやつ). Structured as a sweeping mid-tempo ballad grounded in detailed lyrical storytelling, the song carries layered meaning.

When Winter Meets Spring: Atarayo Releases “Spring Is Coming” marks the arrival of the band’s latest single, scheduled for release on Wednesday, January 11 at 00:00 (Local Store Turn).

Issued as a standalone single, the track is performed in Japanese and falls within the pop genre, continuing Atarayo’s emotionally driven musical approach while introducing a new seasonal theme.

It reflects both the literal transition into spring and the symbolic notion of winter existing as the “season beside spring.” Through evocative verses and gradual melodic development, the composition follows the subtle narrowing of emotional distance between two individuals, unfolding with restrained intensity and warmth.

The music video extends this narrative by charting the emotional space between Valentine’s Day and White Day. It portrays two people lingering on the edge of confession, communicating through hesitant gestures and lingering glances rather than words.

A single tear becomes emblematic of unspoken affection, capturing the vulnerability and anticipation of young love.

Director Udo commented on the visual concept:

“The MV portrays a White Day when the two have not fully expressed their feelings. I reflected on their relationship in the girl’s tears. I hope viewers enjoy imagining the emotions and stories behind each moment.”

This release marks Atarayo’s second collaboration with The Dangers in My Heart franchise, following their January 2024 TV anime Season 2 opening theme “(I Am…)『僕は…』”.

Since 2024, Atarayo has continued to expand its presence both within Japan and internationally. Their second Asia tour, 「夢語り Yume-gatari」TOUR 2025, covered nine cities in China and five in Japan, with multiple sold-out dates, reinforcing the group’s position as a prominent voice in contemporary J-pop.

Atarayo describes itself as a band “that grows by consuming sadness.” The name originates from the Japanese word “atarayo (可惜夜),” referring to “a night so beautiful you hate to see it end.”

The group began uploading music to YouTube in November 2020. Their debut original song, “10月無口な君を忘れる,” resonated strongly with listeners through its emotive vocal delivery, urban-influenced production, and reflective, bittersweet lyricism.

Since that debut, Atarayo has released multiple digital singles, EPs, and albums, achieving chart success across platforms including LINE MUSIC, Spotify, TikTok, and AWA. Within a year of launching their career, they also appeared on THE FIRST TAKE. Key releases and milestones include:

  • 1st EP “夜明け前” (2021)
  • 1st Album “極夜において月は語らず” (2022)
  • 1st Asia Tour “Atarayo First Asia Tour 2024” (2024)

With a growing domestic and international following, Atarayo continues to build momentum through a distinctive sound shaped by emotional nuance and immersive narrative songwriting.
