Given that his two world championship victories occurred during the epidemic and in front of an empty house, Drew McIntyre has been hinting at winning the World Heavyweight Championship in front of live audiences for a while.
Despite having a fairly mediocre season the previous year, Drew returned stronger after developing a heel character. After taking aim at practically every WWE superstar, Drew emerged victorious in the Elimination Chamber and earned a legitimate shot at Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Now that the WWE Hall of Famer has forecasted the Mania fight in Drew’s favor, Drew appears to be more self-assured.
Booker T predicts winner of Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins match
In a recent episode of his Hall of Fame, Booker T discussed the World Heavyweight Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. The veteran went on to say that he likes Drew McIntyre to defeat Seth Rollins to become the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40.
The King thinks Drew is ready, saying it wouldn’t make sense if he lost at Mania because he put a lot of effort into winning the chamber and getting back to where he is now. Booker T stated, “I hope [Drew] gets given the title.
Not that I have anything against Seth, but he’s had a fair run. In terms of standing out, it’s nothing like Seth’s run. It hasn’t been a terrible run or anything, as I mentioned, but I do believe it’s time for Drew McIntyre to return to that role.
It’s quite unlikely that we would have placed Drew McIntyre in a situation where he needed to put in so much effort to bounce back, to win a bout like the Elimination Chamber, and to continue [and] come up short. That’s just what I’m into. I’m hoping Drew prevails. Let’s just say that I also like Drew McIntyre.
