ASTRO’s Rocky will be seen in the new web drama, Salty Idol (literal translation). The real-life idol is all geared up to play an idol and the hardships one faces onscreen. Rocky’s upcoming web drama will air soon. Hence, the production crew also shared the details of his character. Fantiago Entertainment which houses ASTRO, announced the news and asked the fans to support Rocky’s new venture.
Salty Idol is a growth idol drama depicting the hardships, hurdles, and challenges that idols overcome in their life. In particular, it will focus on the sad and tense life of an idol who suffers from financial stability. On December 10, Fantiago Entertainment shared an official statement to confirm Rocky’s new drama. They shared that the singer will return with a good character. Thus, they expect the fans to shower immense love to his comeback.
ASTRO’s Rocky to Star in New Web Drama Salty Idol
ASTRO’s Rocky is preparing for his role in Salty Idol. The real-life idol will take on the part of Hwiyeon, a solo artist who later joins Kpop group XPierce, as a second-generation member. After the release of its first album, XPierce becomes successful all over the nation. However, because Hwiyeon wasn’t a part of the group while the first album came out, he lacks the love of XPierce fans. Furthermore, even though he is part of a popular Kpop group, he faces all kinds of hardships in life. It will be exciting to see Hwiyeon overcome his problems while winning the love of Kpop fans.
Rocky’s character will be the central point of the plot. And, the singer is determined to bring out the seriousness as well as the comical element of his character. Kim Hyeon Soo will direct the web drama. Meanwhile, Kim Seon Jin will pen down the screenplay, along with PH E&M producing the drama. KBS Media will back up Salty idol. The new web drama starring Rocky is eyeing to broadcast this winter. The actor will also star in another drama, Chung Chun Hyang Jeon, this year.
