Ashley Johnson, an actress most recognized for her work in “The Last of Us” and “Critical Role,” secured a restraining order against her former partner, Brian Foster, earlier this year.
Six more women have now come forward with comparable accusations against Foster. In Los Angeles County, these seven women have joined forces to launch a civil complaint against Foster. Foster, 40, allegedly displayed a distressing pattern of ugly and wicked behavior toward women.
Currently, Ashley Johnson is a key participant in the well-liked “Dungeons & Dragons” livestream series called “Critical Role.” As previously reported by Insider, Brian Foster, on the other hand, presented a comparable talk show called “Talks Machina” for several years before quitting in 2021. The lawsuit claims that Johnson and Foster called it quits in March 2023.
Lawsuit against Brian Foster
According to the lawsuit, Brian Foster is liable for several charges, including domestic violence, purposeful infliction of emotional distress, sexual battery, assault, stalking, gender violence, and civil rights violations. It’s crucial to remember that not every plaintiff will be subject to every charge.
Bryan Freedman, one of the lawyers for the seven women, said the lawsuit intends to address the harm Foster allegedly perpetrated on his clients and to stop others from going through a similar mental, emotional, and physical abuse as a result of Foster’s claimed pattern of behavior.
The action involves seven plaintiffs, all of whom are residents of California. Only one of them is known to be an anonymous Jane Doe. Notably, Haylie Langseth, the sister of Ashley Johnson, is one of the plaintiffs. In the lawsuit, Brian Foster is charged with making inappropriate sexual remarks about Langseth and even groping her while she was in front of her kids and Ashley Johnson.
When Insider contacted Brian Foster before the article’s publication, he was unavailable for comment, and the complaint did not name a lawyer on his behalf. Insider got in touch with Marc Collins, who had before defended Foster when Ashley Johnson requested a domestic violence restraining order earlier this year. Collins had previously represented Foster. However, before the article’s publication, Collins did not react to questions.
Johnson claims Brian to be a danger.
Ashley Johnson requested a restraining order in May, alleging that Brian Foster had abused her for years before their relationship. Her request for protection was motivated by worries that she and her family had about Foster’s potential for violence and the possibility that he may hurt them, as previously reported by Insider.
Brian Foster was searched by law officers after Ashley Johnson first asked for an urgent restraining order against him in May. Foster was carrying an orange ammo box. According to the lawsuit, they found a strangling device and “two airsoft guns that had been altered to resemble real guns” inside the box.
Johnson requested a domestic violence restraining order against Foster in August of the same year. According to court documents obtained by Insider, Foster wrote the court on August 28 to voice his opposition to the Johnson-requested restraining order.
Particular claims made about the airsoft weapons and the garrote were refuted by Foster. In August, he stated that he didn’t own any guns, lacked a license to own them, and that the “ammo box” assertion in the petition for domestic abuse was untrue. He also clarified that the item referred to as a “garrote” was a pocket saw that was included with a Trail Box and was used to cut firewood for a campfire.
