As the finale of “The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection” approaches, characters are intensifying their efforts to dismantle Matthew Lee (Uhm Ki Joon). Episodes 13 and 14 feature a mix of strategic brilliance and questionable decisions.
One of the standout moments involves Han Mon Ne (Lee Yu Bi), who has been tormented by the obsessive Hwang Chan Sung (Lee Jung Shin) throughout Season 2. In a cunning move, Mon Ne exploits Chan Sung’s obsession to her advantage.
After enduring threats to her loved ones, she returns with a plan. Pretending to be affectionate, she plants a bug on him, using his partnership with Matthew Lee to gather information. Eventually, after extracting all the useful intel, she decisively kills Chan Sung, reducing the number of her enemies.
Another clever tactic involves Do Hyuk’s (Lee Joon) use of LUCA, Matthew Lee’s advanced spying technology, against him. In a public confrontation, Do Hyuk hacks LUCA and feeds it false information, exposing Matthew Lee’s lies about his identity in front of the press.
This maneuver not only undermines Lee’s credibility but also turns his own weapon into a tool of his downfall.
However, not all actions were wise. Following a dramatic chase, Yang Jin Mo (Yoon Jong Hoon) dies in an accident and his heart is transplanted to his wife, Go Myoung Ji (Jo Yoon Hee).
The ill-timed revelation of Jin Mo’s death right after Myoung Ji’s surgery leads to her distress, forcing doctors to sedate her—a clear lapse in judgment given her fragile state.
In another smart move, Han Na (Shim Ji Yoo) uses sign language to relay their location to Jin Mo during a video call with Matthew Lee’s goons. Her quick thinking helps save her and the Go twins.
While Han Na’s sign language skills make sense due to her background, Jin Mo’s sudden fluency remains puzzling, adding a layer of intrigue to his character.
