Vocalist HaSeul, a member of the K-pop group ARTMS, officially released her latest solo digital single titled “Afterglow” on September 8 at 6 PM KST.
Her agency, Modhaus, preceded the music drop by unveiling two concept teaser images, giving fans an early glimpse into the visual direction of the project.
The song’s English title “Afterglow” mirrors its Korean name, which translates conceptually to the lingering, soft light that remains visible after its original source has already faded from view.
The arrival of “Afterglow” marks a key moment for HaSeul as she balances personal creative projects alongside her health management.
In August, Modhaus formally announced that the singer would temporarily step back from active group promotions to undergo surgical treatment for a long-standing left shoulder injury.
While ARTMS continued their official group activities as a four-member lineup during her physical recovery, the agency clarified that HaSeul would pursue carefully paced solo activities as her health allowed, establishing “Afterglow” as the first major release born from that personal chapter.
Genre-Blending Evolution Complements Ongoing ARTMS Milestones
Musically, “Afterglow” represents a fresh stylistic expansion for HaSeul, who previously cultivated a solo musical identity centered around city pop through past individual tracks like “Love Poison” and “Fragile Eyes.”
Her newest digital single builds upon that foundation by blending jazz and rock influences into her signature city-pop sound, delivering a dynamic arrangement that highlights her delicate vocal tones.
Lyrically, the song compares an unfulfilled emotional longing to distant starlight that travels hundreds of millions of light-years across the universe, only to disappear into the dark before reaching its intended target.

Having originally debuted as members of LOONA before regrouping under Modhaus, the five members renewed their contracts ahead of schedule and carried their overarching narrative universe forward into ARTMS.
Following the release of their mini-album “Club Icarus” in June, the group is currently preparing to bring their “Grand Club Icarus World Tour” to European audiences in January.
