Haejin collected some evidence to prove that the tea cup belonged to Admiral Yisun in the previous chapter. Readers are excited to find out how Haejin would make use of the evidence in Artifact Reading Appraiser Chapter 17.
Byeong Guk informed Haejin that the tea cup Admiral Yisun used was kept inside the Seyeon gallery. Haejin told him he already knew that, and that’s why he told Byeong Guk not to exchange it for the Buncheong Celadon.
Byeong Guk told him he agreed because, even though the buncheong Celadon was precious, Yisun’s tea cup was a national treasure.
Haejin told Byeong Guk that he was not sure if it was a national treasure. But he was sure that it carried more meaning than just material value. Haejin believed that a place like the Hwajin group would value the meaning contained in the teacup more than its material value.
Byeong Guk told him all the Koreans knew that, not just the Hwajin group. Byeong Guk was wondering how Haejin knew that it belonged to Admiral Yisun.
Haejin recalled that the shaman lady took him to the past and introduced him to the owner of the teacup. There was a time when he sacrificed everything he had to fight against the Japanese for his country.
As usual, the shaman lady was explaining the story behind the object, but during that time, he did not need any explanation. Because Haejin already knew about it clearly since his childhood.
Haejin knew about the owner and what significance he had to the country and era in which he was born and lived. Everybody knew about the story of Admiral Sin Yisun.
They knew about the value of his belongings. However, the problem was that there was no evidence to prove that the tea cup belonged to Admiral Yisun.
Haejin told Byeong Guk they wanted to take a look at the buncheong Celadon because they could only prove it by finding out the evidence.
Park Haejin called Sojin from Byung Guk’s phone and told her he had left his left behind. He informed her that he was right in front of the building and wanted to pick up his phone.
Artifact Reading Appraiser Chapter 16 Recap
Momoko informed Sojin that Park Haejin did not look at his phone even once during the appraisal. Momoko believed that Park Haejin left the phone there on purpose so that he could have a reason to come back there.
Sojin was wondering if Park Haejin wanted to talk about something without his employer’s presence. Sojin told Momoko that if that was Park Haejin’s intention, she had to prove to him that his approach was completely wrong.
Sojin told Momoko to bring his phone to Haejin because she did not want to meet with him in person. She was already very busy with the exhibition schedule, so she reminded Momoko to give him his phone in front of the gallery.
Sojin mentioned that even if he had something to say, she gave orders not to let him step inside. Sojin did not want someone who did not know his place to enter her gallery twice.
Haejin apologized to Momoko for making her come outside because of his phone. Haejin asked her if director Yang Sojin was still inside the building because he wanted some of her time to have a chat with her.
Momoko informed him that their director had gone to prepare for the exhibition. She informed him that he could pass on his words to her and that she would relay the information to their director.
