Artifact Reading Appraiser Chapter 12 will be the latest installment in the Fantasy-Drama Manhwa. The story follows the life of Park Hae-Jin. He is a guy in his early 30s who is blessed with the magic of a Heavenly Object.
Hae-Jin’s father is an antique appraiser. Moreover, he travels the world retrieving artifacts that were lost in time and donating them to the state, all on his dime. He learned all the tips and tricks of the trade from his father.
Since his father spent all the family’s money on his missions, Hae-Jin couldn’t focus on school. He started working at a very young age to provide for his family. At 31 years old Hae-Jin is working as a construction worker.
Little did he know his father was going to be the one that helped him get back on his feet. Better late than never, I guess. He left his latest find, the Eight Bells from the Korean Peninsula, in his home and left without a word.
When Hae-Jin picked up the artifact, something strange happened. He was enveloped in this mystic green hue and saw a woman floating behind him. It was the spirit of a Shaman of the Heavenly Altar from the Korean Peninsula.
She gave him the ability to perfectly appraise any artifact. But in exchange, Hae-Jin must gather the Three Heavenly Objects of the Heavenly Altar: The Eight Bells, The Bronze Daggar, and The Bronze Mirror.
Hae-Jin can force another appraiser into confessing the truth. He can astral project into a painting to find out the reality behind its origin. As in, he can find out if the artifact is authentic.
He used his abilities to purchase some antiques for cheap and then auctioned them off for a huge profit margin. He impressed Lee Eun-Hye, the curator of a gallery, into hiring him as a part-time appraiser for a huge commission.
Artifact Reading Appraiser Manhwa Recap
After moving into his new place, Hae-Jin receives a call from Byun-Guk. Byun-Guk is someone very close to his father. They used to raid tombs together, and Hae-Jin considered him his real uncle. Byun-Guk contacted Hae-Jin to see if he was in contact with his dad.
However, he explains how its been some time since he lost contact with his father. Byun-Guk wanted his help in appraising an artifact, and Hae-Jin decided to help him in his father’s stead.
It’s an antique Hae-Jin’s father gave Byun-Guk over a decade ago, and it seems that he is finally ready to sell it. Hae-Jin appraised the antique to be worth around a Billion Won.
The customer they were meeting was revealed to be the Vice President of the Hwajin Group, Lee Seong-Jun. Hwajin Group is the largest conglomerate in the country and also the same group Eun-Hye belongs to.
The sale was to be done at Seong-Jun’s house. The duo arrives there and is amazed at the sheer size of his house. They make their way in to meet Seong-Jun. Immediately, he is very dismissive of Hae-Jin since he lacks experience.
Who needs experience when you have the spirit of a Shaman of the Heavenly Altar? Byun-Guk asks for 2 Billion Won for the antique but gets rejected immediately.
Since they could not reach an agreement Byun-Guk and Hae-Jin were behind to leave. However, Seong-Jun begins berating them for asking too much and says that they will never find a customer at this rate.
Hae-Jin was not pleased that Seong-Jun was berating someone whom he considered family. He decides to get even. He notices that one of the art pieces on the wall, Lion Tamer by Max Beckmann, is indeed fake, and he doesn’t shy away from saying it to his face.
Artifact Reading Appraiser Chapter 12 Spoilers & Predictions
Hae-Jin just told the VP of Hwajin Group that the prized painting he has displayed on his wall is fake. Knowing Hae-Jin, we know that he is telling the truth. Perhaps the painting is one of Hanjin’s forgeries.
We know that Hanjin is notorious for creating sophisticated pieces that even the most seasoned appraisers have trouble distinguishing. If not for his abilities even, he would not be able to distinguish between them. That may or may not be the case this time around.
