Anthony Joshua will get another chance to win a world championship after Eddie Hearn announced the fight.
The British heavyweight boxing sensation Anthony Joshua never fails to draw attention with his power, skill, and will inside the ring.
Joshua, who is renowned for his commanding presence and powerful blows, has won three heavyweight world titles by defeating tough opponents. Fans all over the world have been enthralled with his journey from winning gold at the Olympics in 2012 to winning multiple world titles.
Anthony Joshua will now compete against Filip Hrgovic
Joshua’s fight with Otto Wallin in Saudi Arabia went well, but things took a surprising turn when Joseph Parker stopped Deontay Wilder, which cost him an £80 million contract for two fights with Joshua.
Joshua, a heavyweight from London, will now compete against Filip Hrgovic for the IBF title in the upcoming year as a result.
Joshua and Hrgovic are set to compete for the IBF title, with all four belts expected to be up for grabs after Tyson Fury’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk in February.
Eddie Hearn said, “We signed Wilder, but he didn’t win tonight. Given that AJ’s goal is to win the heavyweight title three times, perhaps it is a blessing. AJ and Hrgovic will compete for the world championship.” Joshua easily won his 27th professional career bout against Wallin. Joshua had previously won by unanimous decision over Jermaine Franklin Jr. in April and stopped Robert Helenius in the seventh round in August.
In his 17 professional fights, Croatian boxer Hrgovic has an undefeated record with 14 victories by knockout. Hrgovic has a great record, but Joshua is going to be a tough opponent because of how dominant he was against Wallin.
Anthony Joshua hasn’t ruled out fighting Wilder again
Although Joshua hasn’t ruled out fighting Wilder again, he did show support for the American’s return. Although Joshua was aware of Deontay’s prior criticism of him, he opted to maintain his dignity by saying, “You can return. He is free to return if he so chooses. Everyone still wants to watch that fight, I’m sure.”
Joshua did, however, underscore his emphasis on world titles, saying, “We’ve got bigger ambitions. We celebrate when we win titles, not when we win these fights, as I mentioned to Louis Theroux.”
Anthony Joshua has already suffered three losses in his career
So far in his career, Joshua has suffered three losses: two to Oleksandr Usyk and one to Andy Ruiz in 2019. Conversely, Wallin, the left-handed boxer from Sweden, has only suffered one defeat at the hands of Tyson Fury. Joshua, however, behaved aggressively during their most recent fight in Riyadh.

In the fourth round, Joshua continued to dominate, connecting on multiple head and body blows as Wallin was unable to muster much of an offensive. Joshua dropped Wallin with a spectacular left hook in the fifth round, sending him reeling in the direction of the ropes. Joshua played the entire fight with a steely determination, never letting up and keeping control of the action.
