Every year, the anime industry reveals a plethora of new titles, from adaptations to originals and spin-offs, delighting fans. In 2023, this trend continues, with several highly anticipated anime on the horizon. Anime Japan 2024 shed light on the most anticipated shows of the year, thanks to its annual survey.
The survey, conducted at Anime Japan, involved over 100,000 attendees who cast their votes from a list of 50 nominated titles. After careful consideration, the top ten most desired anime adaptations were revealed, reflecting the preferences of the fandom.
Among the notable entries are “Shinanonchi no Ikuru,” a family-oriented slice-of-life series set in Japan’s Showa and Heisei periods, and “Syougakuseiemumotoemumi no kattekimamaraifu,” a comedic family tale focusing on humor rather than action.
Here is the List:
- Shinanonchi no Ikuru
- Syougakuseiemumotoemumi no kattekimamaraifu
- Real Akiba Boys
- I Think I Turned My Childhood Friend Into a Girl
- Ugly Duckling of the Entertainment District
- Kitanai Kimi ga Ichiban Kawaii
- Kagurabachi
- The Summer You Were There
- Kindergarten Wars
- Psyren
While some titles may not have English translations yet, the list includes promising contenders from various genres. “Kagurabachi,” which debuted last fall, and fan-favorites like “Kindergarten Wars” and “Psyren,” known to Western audiences through Viz Media, also made the cut.
With industry experts closely monitoring the results of this influential poll, it’s highly likely that at least one of these titles will receive an anime adaptation in the near future.
