Ananta received a major update during Gamescom 2026’s Opening Night Live, where publisher NetEase Games and developer Naked Rain revealed a new trailer alongside the game’s release date. The urban open-world action RPG will launch on January 15, 2027, bringing its anime-inspired cities and high-energy action to players next year.
Ananta is planned for PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. The game is a free-to-play urban open-world RPG that allows players to explore a massive modern city while switching between multiple playable characters.
Ananta Trailer Introduces Chongxiao and More Open-World Activities
The Gamescom trailer expands the world beyond Nova City by introducing Chongxiao, a second major location inspired by cities including Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Tokyo. Players will be able to explore a wide range of activities across the city, from restaurants and gyms to mahjong parlors, cat cafés, maid cafés, clothing stores, and hot springs.
Ananta also offers several ways to travel through its large urban environments. Players can use cars, motorcycles, skateboards, subways, speedboats, yachts, helicopters, hang gliders, and even flying cars.

The game’s protagonist, known as the Captain, is part of the A.C.D., an organization dealing with the chaos spreading across the city. The latest trailer highlights story missions, bounties, side quests, and interactions with NPCs, with Chongxiao featuring more than 100 characters with their own stories.
NetEase previously described Ananta as an “Urban Open World RPG with a high degree of freedom,” allowing players to experience the city through different playable characters and activities. The official description also emphasizes exploration, urban life, combat, and the freedom to choose how players spend their time in its sprawling world. (NetEase Games)
