Am I Actually the Strongest: News
With the promo video released, we have information on the theme songs and new cast members. The opening theme song, Reset Life?, will be performed by Lezei, and the ending theme song, Himi CHU★Pre-Love Magic, will be performed by Star★Shiμ’ne!!!.
The addition to the cast includes Johnny, voiced by Nobutoshi Canna, a knight skeleton. Gigan, voiced by Chitose Morinaga, is a huge golem, Oratoria Belgam, voiced by Yuko Kaida, a teacher at the Academy of Magic, Schneider Halfen, voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto, is vice-president of the student council at the Academy of magic and finally, Giselotte Orteus, voiced by Yū Kobayashi, is the king’s wife and Hart’s real mother.
Written by the talented Sai Sumimori, the series first emerged on the popular novel posting website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in September 2018. Perhaps its immense popularity led to the acquisition by Kodansha, who began publishing the series with illustrations by Ai Takahashi and has published five volumes as of 2021. The manga was serialized in the Niconico-based web manga platform Suiyōbi no Sirius in April 2019 and has collected nine volumes as of 2023.
The anime is directed by Takashi Naoya, accompanied by Matsuo Asami, an assistant director with Staple Entertainment producing the anime. The scripts will be written by Tatsuya Takahashi and Tetsuya Yamada, with Shoko Yasuda on character design.
The Plot and Characters
Reinhart, a once-royal baby, was abandoned by his parents after they thought he was nothing but powerless. He now finds himself reincarnated as a baby (yes, a literal baby) in a different world, with the promise of inhabiting a “cheat” skill.
Lovingly called Hart by his newfound companions, he’s tasked with traveling around the dangerous world, but thankfully, his magic abilities surpass all expectations beyond the standards of normal power. Now, armed with unparalleled power and potential, Hart must face the challenges that lie ahead.
The main cast consists of Hart Zenfis, voiced by Ayumu Murase, Charlotte Zenfis, voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki, Flay voiced by Ayaka Shimizu, Liza voiced by Wakana Kuramochi, Irisphilia voiced by Ami Koshimizu, Laiu voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana, Marianne voiced by Manaka Iwami and finally, Tearietta Luseiannel voiced by Misaki Kuno.
With low ratings received by the manga, fans aren’t too keen on watching the anime adaptation. Hart being a baby, “a day old,” and can move around and control his cheat skill before he can even see pushes the expectations of belief. Readers cannot ignore something like this, as it makes no sense. The comedy in the series requires specific taste, and the illustrations are mid. Overall, the reception hasn’t been positive, but we’re hoping the anime series can surprise us and deliver a good watch.
