We’ve now officially gotten our hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, the latest console from one of gaming’s most influential companies. However, a console’s true value ultimately depends on the strength of its game library.

Fortunately, Nintendo has been quite open about its release roadmap for the coming year. The lineup includes a blend of Switch 2 exclusives, third-party titles, and continued support through backward compatibility with games still launching on the original Switch. With that in mind, here’s a comprehensive look at the new Switch 2 games arriving throughout 2026.

All Upcoming Switch 2 Games With Release Dates

Pokémon Champions (April 8, 2026)

This upcoming Pokémon spin-off adopts a fully free-to-play model, though optional upgrade packs will be available. Pokémon Champions centers heavily on competitive battling, with a particular emphasis on Mega Evolutions.

Players will manage their own Roster Ranch, caring for Pokémon while forming connections with new trainers who can assist along the way.

The title is also set to become the new standard for official Pokémon Video Game Championship competitions. However, it has already been confirmed that it won’t include the complete roster of Pokémon.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (April 16, 2026)

Tomodachi Life has always stood out as one of Nintendo’s more unconventional projects, making its return on Switch 2 especially notable.

The core concept, creating Miis and observing their interactions on a small island, offers a surprising amount of charm, particularly with the expanded customization options available this time around. Nintendo has also addressed past criticism by incorporating greater inclusivity compared to the original 3DS release.

The game received its own dedicated Nintendo Direct presentation, offering gameplay footage and additional details for fans eager to learn more.

Mouse: PI for Hire (April 16, 2026)

The first-person shooter draws inspiration from early concept art of Disney’s Mickey Mouse, adopting a vintage, hand-drawn rubber hose animation aesthetic. It also features a notably energetic jazz-inspired soundtrack that complements its visual style.

Outbound (April 23, 2026)

Outbound caters to players drawn to the idea of escaping into nature. Starting with an empty camper van, you’re placed in a fully explorable open world where you gather resources and gradually build your mobile lifestyle. The game supports both solo play and cooperative gameplay with up to four players.

Pragmata (April 24, 2026)

After multiple delays dating back to 2021, Capcom has finally reintroduced Pragmata with a confirmed release date and cross-platform availability. The story follows Hugh Williams, who becomes injured while exploring a space station under lunar control.

There, he encounters Diana, an android. Both are labeled as intruders and must work together, combining hacking and combat abilities, to uncover the station’s secrets. Additional details are available in our hands-on preview.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth (April 27, 2026)

Drawing inspiration from Tove Jansson’s Moomin stories, this game places players alongside Moomintroll on a winter-themed journey filled with puzzles and encounters with new characters.

MotoGP 26 (April 29, 2026)

For players seeking a more realistic racing experience compared to titles like Mario Kart World or Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, MotoGP 26 offers a simulation-focused alternative. This year’s edition includes full cross-play functionality and introduces a new ‘Rider Based Handling’ physics system.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (May 12, 2026)

Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, this adventure from MachineGames follows Indiana Jones as he investigates the mystery of the Great Circle.

Players will travel across global locations, from the Great Pyramids to submerged ruins, while exploring, infiltrating historical sites, and engaging in combat during escape sequences. The game previously earned strong praise, including a 9/10 review describing it as “far and away the best Indy story this century.”

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (May 21, 2026)

This newly announced first-party Nintendo title will launch exclusively on the Switch 2. It marks the first Yoshi game since Yoshi’s Crafted World in 2019. Early gameplay footage suggests a return to familiar mechanics. Before release, fans will also hear Yoshi voiced by Donald Glover in the upcoming Super Mario Galaxy movie.

Bubsy 4D (May 22, 2026)

Bubsy returns in a new dimension, literally, with the franchise’s first 3D (or rather, 4D) installment in nearly three decades. The platformer introduces additional movement abilities and features, with levels spread across three distinct planets. It will also include online leaderboards for speedrunning right at launch.

007 First Light (May 27, 2026)

IO Interactive’s interpretation of James Bond arrives as a major multi-platform release. Launching across Switch 2, PC, PS5, and Xbox, the game explores Bond’s early career and recruitment into MI6. Patrick Gibson portrays Bond, while Lenny Kravitz takes on the role of the antagonist, Bawma.

Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen (May 28, 2026)

Based on the popular children’s series Bluey, this title makes its way to Switch 2 after initially launching on iOS. The adventure revolves around helping the Heeler family recover Bluey’s Gold Pen from within her imaginative drawings.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (June 3, 2026)

The second installment in the Final Fantasy VII remake project arrives on Switch 2 this summer. Following their escape from Midgar, Cloud and his companions journey across an expansive world in pursuit of Sephiroth.

In addition to visual enhancements, Rebirth introduces a new affinity system between characters, alongside a large number of side activities and mini-games.

Denshattack! (June 17, 2026)

Rather than summarizing it independently, it’s best described using Rebekah Valentine’s interview quote: “Denshattack! Is Tony Hawk With Japanese Trains, for Train-Lovers, by Train-Lovers.” Yes, it’s awesome.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (June 18, 2026)

This HD-2D RPG comes from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. The story follows Elliot, who discovers a mysterious artifact near his hometown that enables time and space travel. Players will journey across four distinct eras, each featuring unique environments and inhabitants, in an effort to save their home.
