Black Clover introduced us to the Black Bulls. Black Clover is one of the most popular Japanese manga written by Yuki Tabata. The manga is currently ongoing, and a total of 327 chapters have been released. On the other hand, the anime came to an abrupt end last year with 170 episodes released. The show got close to the manga, so the creators, instead of making fillers, decided to end it. The creators of the show shifted their focus on the movie set to release next year. Black Clover has become one of the fan-favorite anime in the past years and continues to rise up the ranks with each passing week as new manga chapters are released.
We see almost every anime has a squad or a group of villains or heroes. Mostly we see a group of villains. Some of the most iconic groups are Akatsuki from Naruto Shippuden, Twelve Demon Moons from Demon Slayer, and The Phantom Troupe from Hunter x Hunter. These groups are made up of some of the greatest antagonists in anime history. While some famous anime squads made up of heroes are Gotei 13 from Bleach, Straw Hats from One Piece, Team 7 from Naruto Shippuden, and the Z Fighters from Dragon Ball Z. Another such squad are the Black Bulls from Black Clover.
The Black Bulls is the focus here as we look at its members and their strengths accordingly. We all have seen the Black Bulls in Black Clover. Known for its destructive behavior, Black Bulls is one of the nine squads of the Magic Knights of the Clover Kingdom. All squads, including Black Bulls, perform official and unofficial missions all over the Clover Kingdom under the orders of the Magic Emperor. The Black Bulls squad is led by Yami Sukehiro. Sukehiro is also responsible for determining if a mage will get into the squad.
Nacht, Henry, Vanessa, Gauche, Zora, Grey, Charmy, Noelle, and Secre are among the members Yami recruited from outside the annual exam. Let’s take a look at the most powerful members of the Black Bulls.
15. Gordon Agrippa
This is a hot take, I know, but take a look at why Gordon is ranked lowest. Everyone loves Gordon Agrippa. He comes from a popular family which has been using curse magic for centuries. Gordon can also use the curse magic but only to an extent.
Despite its impressive performance against Plant Magic, Poison Magic offers no real fighting capacity beyond creating poison.
14. Grey
Grey was first portrayed as a fat guy. But, during the Seabed Temple arc, fans came to know the shocking truth. Grey was actually a cute girl all along. She had been using her transformation magic to disguise herself. Grey is very powerful. Apart from just impersonating others, she can also copy their magic.
Grey mostly works from behind the scenes. She is not shown much. But after the revival of the elves, she demonstrates her true passion for the Black Bulls.
13. Finral Roulacase
Finral is a Spatial Magic-user. People and things can be transported to different places with this type of magic, which is very powerful. His magic is able to create portals for transportation. On top of that, Finral can use his magic to play with the mind of his enemies, which lets him attack them easily. We’ve seen this happen in his fight against Langris.
The Heart Kingdom’s Mana Method greatly increased the power and speed of his spells and even saved his brother from Zenon when he used his magic against Langris. We are yet to see more of him to be able to rank him higher on this list.
12. Vanessa Enoteca
Vanessa is a witch. She was taught by the Witch Queen in the forest. Vanessa is a Thread Magic user. Vanessa can use her threads effectively in combat to change its flow. She was held in prison when Yami found her. With Yami’s help, she escaped the prison and joined the Black Bulls in return.
Her most powerful ability is Red Thread of Fate. Using this, she can literally change her or her friends’ fate. She lacks physical strength and does not have much stamina.
11. Henry Legolant
Henry Legolant is often considered the hidden member of the Black Bulls. Henry has a strange ability that lets him absorb the mana of everyone around him. This led to his family abandoning him in what is currently the Black Bulls’ headquarters. Henry is a reliable teammate. Using little mana from everyone, he can change the shape of the base and can even move it. He can even control the inside of the base. Apart from all this, he can use the entire base as a weapon or a shield.
10. Zora Ideale
Zora is one of the Black Bulls’ most powerful members. He is extremely intelligent and has shown this during battles. Zora uses Ash Magic and Trap Magic. One may say this is not very powerful, but the way Zora uses it is extremely praiseworthy. He uses his magic cleverly and cunningly. His traps are so perfect that even the captains of the Clover Kingdom have fallen for them.
He can cast spells at a very fast rate and is also good at avoiding attacks. Zora has a high mana reserve too. Zora is very powerful, but he is at this spot in this list because of a few backdrops. He needs to set up his traps in advance and can’t do so while in a fight. Zora can easily jump higher when we see more of him.

9. Secre Swallowtail
Secre is a Sealing Magic wielder. She used to serve the first Wizard, King Lumiere. She is so powerful that she has even saved the world a few times. One of the most memorable instances was when she sealed Zagred into the Eternal Prison. She also sealed Lumiere and turned him into a statue in order to protect everyone.
Apart from all this, she can even seal the wounds of people, as seen with Tetia. Secre does not have much in the inventory of offense and defense apart from all that we’ve seen. This is the reason why she is ranked lower on the list.
8. Magna Swing
Magna Swing is the beloved senpai of our protagonist Asta. He has specialized in Fire magic. Magna’s fire magic gives him a big arsenal of weapons. He can even mix his magic with others’ magic to create a fatal blow for the enemy. In the Soul Chain Deathmatch, we see how powerful Magna is when he wins against Dante.
Specialization in fire magic and exploiting it in the best way possible makes Magna worthy of being in the top 10 of this list. Although Magna is a bit weaker on the defensive side, we’re sure he can manage it.
7. Gauche Adlai
Gauche takes the 7th spot on this list. He is very protective of his sister. He loves his sister the most in the world. That’s one of the many things we like about him. Gauche uses Mirror magic. This mirror magic lets him create mirrors anytime, anywhere, and cast spells useful to them.
One of his most powerful spells is the Real Double using which he can create a copy of himself. If that were not enough, his clone is equally as powerful as him. Thus, he can create various new spells and attacks using his clone. According to Tabata, Gauche is the smartest Black Bulls member, making him worthy of the 7th position.

6. Charmy Pappitson
Charmy is probably the cutest Black bulls member, if not the strongest. She is a half-human, half-dwarf. She uses her magic mostly to eat tasty food. But, when in need, she can also use her magic and be lethal towards an enemy.
Because of her origin, she wields dual magic. Her primary magic type is Cotton Magic. We see her using this magic type the most. One thing that makes her deserving of the 6th spot is her food magic. The food she creates replenishes the mana. In short, we can say that she might have an unlimited storage of mana.
5. Luck Voltia
We’ve finally made it to the top 5 strongest Black Bulls. Who else than Luck Voltia can take this place. Luck is a Lightning Magic-user. He can directly attack his enemies using lightning without much effort. He can even use his magic to strengthen his physical abilities when at the limit to last longer while in a fight.
As seen in the Eye of the Midnight Sun arc, he was the vessel for an elf. This sharpened his use of magic and increased his mana limit. Apart from this, he has also trained with Gaja, helping him get better at magic.
4. Noelle Silva
Noelle has always shown the determination to get better and stronger. She once used to be an arrogant kid because of her royal lineage. But ever since joining the Black Bulls, she has become kindhearted. The cutest thing revolving around her happened in the recent chapters when she accepted her feelings for Asta.
Fans also believe that Noelle has had one of the best character developments so far and want more of it. Being of royal heritage grants her a good mana reserve for her Water magic. Her control over the magic used to be very poor. But, she has learned how to control it and cast any spells whenever she likes. Noelle is set for great heights when she fully learns the magic spells.
3. Asta
Our main character of Black Clover takes up the 3rd spot making it to the Top 3. All the Black Clover fans know very well why Asta is here. While some might argue for him to be on 2nd, 3rd place is perfect for him. His contract with Liebe almost makes him invincible. The only thing holding him back is the Devil Union form with Liebe.
We all know how much Asta has worked throughout the show. His physical prowess is also top-notch. He is great with swords, be it any kind, from heavy swords to Yami’s katana. He can handle them all pretty easily. Asta even got Yami to teach him the art of reading ki, which helps him see through his opponents. He has become a great Magic Knight. If Asta manages to better his Devil Union mode, he can become extremely powerful.
2. Nacht Faust
The 2nd spot goes to the vice-captain of the Black Bulls, Nacht Faust. Nacht is a formidable opponent of his enemies. Apart from mastering Shadow Magic, he is the host of 4 different devils. Nacht can easily hide in the shadow of any person or an object using his magic. His proficient magic helped him to become a spy for the Spade kingdom for a very long time.
Being from a noble family, Nacht has large mana reserves and a variety of magic spells. He is extremely smart and practical, helping him keep a cool head whenever needed. You might be guessing why Nacht is above Asta in this list. Nacht has been in the ‘host for the devil’ business for a good amount of time to be able to handle it. On the other hand, Asta has received these powers recently and does not know how to use them properly.
Another point to keep in mind is that Nacht can hold his Devil Union mode longer than Asta.
1. Yami Sukehiro
Yami Sukehiro, the name says for itself. He is, without a doubt, the strongest member of the Black Bulls. Yami uses Dark magic. The name itself is enough to realize how insanely powerful he is. His magic can absorb the light magic and can connect the human world to the underworld.
Yami’s spells are also inevitable. His very popular spell is Dimension Slash: Equinox, which can cut anything. After mastering Dark magic, he acquired spells like Mana Zone and Black Hole. His sword skills are at par with the best swordsman. He uses katana while fighting his enemies.
