Ali Wong has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Justin Hakuta, more than a year after they publicly announced their separation.
According to court documents obtained, the comedian and Beef star filed for divorce in Beverly Hills on December 22, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Wong listed April 10, 2022, as their official date of separation.
The documents reveal that Wong is seeking joint legal and physical custody of their two children, Mari (8) and Nikki (6).
Additionally, the couple is currently in mediation to resolve any financial and property-related matters, with a request for the court to uphold their prenuptial agreement.

Wong and Hakuta, an entrepreneur and businessman, married in November 2014 after meeting at a friend’s wedding. They were together for nearly eight years before announcing their split in April 2022.
At the time, a representative confirmed the divorce, and Wong later spoke openly about the process in a Hollywood Reporter interview.
During that interview, Wong admitted that she did not expect the public reaction to be so widespread.
However, she revealed that her mother’s response was the hardest part.
“She looked me in the eye and asked, ‘Can you just wait until I die?’” Wong recalled, adding that her mother, 82 at the time, was deeply upset.
Despite their split, Wong has described their relationship as a “very unconventional divorce.” She has repeatedly emphasized that she and Hakuta remain close friends and co-parents.
In fact, on the morning of her Hollywood Reporter interview, Wong revealed that she and Hakuta played pickleball together, and she even invited him to join her on tour over the summer.
The divorce marks the end of their marriage but not their strong bond as co-parents and friends.
While neither Wong nor Hakuta has publicly commented on the latest court filing, their amicable post-split relationship suggests they are handling the separation with mutual respect.
