Sami Zayn defeated The Ring General to win the WWE Intercontinental title, capping his record-breaking reign on The Grandest Stage of them all. Gable’s training regimen proved to be crucial in this victory.
Sami Zayn and Chad Gable remained partners up until RAW following WrestleMania 40 when the newly crowned champion consented to defend his championship against Gable.
But Gable, maybe hoping to replicate the same moment, but this time for the championship, went to his X to remind Sami and the entire WWE Universe that he had defeated then-champion GUNTHER the last time RAW was in Zayn’s homeland of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
“My last visit to Quebec was… I defeated Gunther. #WWERaw See you on Monday, Sami. It would be intriguing to see if the former Olympian can finally rise to the situation with Gable’s chance to win the WWE Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 40, as many had anticipated he would.
