Unlike other series where talking to gods is good and dandy, it’s possible for the gods who are communicating with Rudiger to take over his body, and Rudiger is trying not to let that happen, hence, why he is trying to keep the voices out of his head.
Rudiger needs massive amounts of mana to keep the voices in his head to be quiet enough that he can function. If he casts anything over a 3rd level spell, it uses mana reserves he doesn’t have, and the voices kick in. If he doesn’t take one of those mana pills quickly, the super bad things start to happen.
They are the voices of Forgotten Gods in the Void. As mentioned in the 1st chapter, Rudger’s Mom in his 1st life on earth, already felt he was chosen by the Gods. Now, when he reincarnates into this new world, he also has a special constitution/special body that is able to communicate with the Gods.
However, being able to communicate with the Gods is not all positive, as mentioned by Rudger’s conversation in the earlier chapters with the elf teacher, as some Gods try to take over the bodies of people they can communicate with.
Hence, that’s why Rudger needs a special seal that Rudger and his master created to keep the Forgotten Gods of the Void sealed so they can’t take over Rudger’s Body. Keeping this seal needs massive amounts of Mana, so that is why Rudger keeps taking Mana Pills whenever he uses magic.
The voices are God(s). If Rudger doesn’t keep using Mana to block them, they start manifesting in the MC’s world and causing all sorts of mental damage to anyone near Rudger. There may even be a nastier stage past that point.
