Cha Jinhyuk will awaken his soul powers after entering the soul state in Absolute Necromancer Chapter 28 while Vulcan and Miho struggle to protect his body from the wayward souls that had come in pursuit of his empty body.
Vulcan begins fighting the lot off, and even the mage guide enters the room after the ruckus that had been ensuing. The souls just come from everywhere, and Vulcan is the sole person responsible for making sure that Cha Jinhyuk’s body does not get taken over by an evil spirit. Even so, the sheer amount is making Vulcan struggle, and he even misses one of them.
Cha Jinhyuk is in pursuit of powers so that he can finally execute his revenge plan against all those who betrayed them. Doing such a thing was very risky, and Cha Jinhyuk knew the risks. He still went ahead with the plan since he trusted Vulcan to protect his body while he was in the soul state.
Miho acts as the real MVP when he jumps on the soul that Vulcan missed, which is aiming to enter Cha Jinhyuk’s body. Vulcan and the guide both get the chills when they see the soul making its way for Cha Jinhyuk, knowing that they have no time to react anymore when Miho jumps from the shadows.

Absolute Necromancer: Chapter 27 Recap
In the previous chapter of Absolute Necromancer, the fight between Vulcan and Hendric ends after Vulcan manages to temporarily trap Hendric to prevent him from moving around. Vulcan was in a hurry to end the fight since he knew that he would lose if the fight went on any further.
Vulcan decides to disappear before Hendric gains his mobility, especially when he has run out of the mana and souls that Cha Jinhyuk had given him. Once Vulcan disappears, Hendric breaks out of the binds, and he is mad as well as ecstatic at the prospect of fighting Vulcan again.
In the tower, a mage guides Cha Jinhyuk to the necromancer’s room while assessing him and wondering how Cha Jinhyuk is strong enough to defeat him. It was odd since Cha Jinhyuk had only climbed ten floors while the guide was a 35-floor climber.
Logically, the guide should be stronger than Jinhyuk, but that wasn’t the case. Cha Jinhyuk enters the Necromancer room, and he sees the well-equipped room. The room was basically a haven for any necromancer, with corpses and souls littered all over it. Jinhyuk summons Vulcan, who looks quite nervous and tired from his altercation with Hendric.
Cha Jinhyuk summons his soul and asks them to draw the structure on the floor while he instructs Vulcan to protect his body no matter what. In pursuit of increasing his power, Cha Jinhyuk was going to enter the soul state and leave the shell of his body behind temporarily.
As soon as Jinhyuk enters the soul state, multiple portals open up, and spirits start filtering in, all greedy to take over Jinhyuk’s empty body. Vulcan commands all of Jinhyuk’s souls to protect their master and attacks the souls, but there are just too many of them.
