Let’s find out how the new K drama ended in A Time Called You Happy Ending Explained. The science fiction aspects in the Netflix original K-drama series A Time Called You are an attempt to incorporate them into the story.
This drama heavily involves time travel, which causes a ton of confusion. In the world of A Time Called You, characters frequently travel into one another’s bodies. Han Jun-hee and Kwon Min-ju, two opposite personalities, are bound together by destiny.
The fact that they looked alike opened up a world of possibilities despite the reality that their realities were so different.
Han Jun-hee, then 36 years old, had recently lost her partner, Koo Yeon-jun, in a plane accident. Even a year after the tragedy, Jun-hee found it difficult to accept his passing and move on with her life.
She was even more disappointed to learn that Yeon-jun had prepared the ideal proposal and surprise for her.
When Jun-Hee received a vintage photograph of two boys, a girl who resembled her, and a third male, things in her life began to go strange. Jun-Hee was unable to recall the image.
She did some research online and discovered that the owner of the record shop where the photo was shot also ran a cafe in Seoul.
Jun-Hee discovered the girl in the photograph was his niece Min-Ju, who had passed away in 1998 when he met the owner and showed him the image.
Jun-Hee found it difficult to comprehend why she had received the text, and inexplicably, she had also received a tape recorder and a cassette from an unknown source.
She decided to listen to the song while she made her way home. She was immediately transported to 1998 as soon as the album “Tears” started playing.

A Time Called You Happy Ending Explained
When Jun-Hee awoke in a hospital bed in 1998 as Min-ju, she was startled. She was even more shocked to discover a young Yeon-jun waiting at the bedside. She was unfamiliar to Yeon-jun, who then stated that he was Si-heon.
Si-heon and Yeon-jun did share a similar appearance, but they were not the same individual. Yeon-jun was technically 11 years old in 1998, and in A Time Called You, it is revealed that he was not entirely involved in the events of the drama.
She made an effort to make sense of the events when Jun-hee awoke as Min-ju. She was positive that Si-heon and Yeon-jun were connected in some way, but she was unsure of the specifics. Min-ju was a shy high school student who suffered from severe loneliness and abuse from other girls as well as her own family.
But everything changed when Jun-hee began to live as Min-ju. Extrovert Jun-hee was far more intelligent than Min-ju and excelled at sports. Si-heon and In-gyu, two of Min-ju’s pals, found the abrupt change in her personality strange.
As an introvert himself, In-gyu had a thing for Min-ju and could identify with his struggles. Si-heon assisted In-gyu in making friends with Min-ju, but he was unaware that Min-ju preferred him to his withdrawn friend.
Min-ju professed her romantic affection for Si-heon before Jun-hee took over her body, but he turned down her offer.
He did not share those sentiments, and he had no intention of betraying his best buddy. In-gyu overheard the exchange and, despite being devastated, made an effort to keep his friendships with Si-heon and Min-ju intact.
When Min-ju arrived home that evening, her entire family had left. Min-ju believed her mother had left her and taken her brother. She decided to find her mother in a fit of rage. She had an accident while rushing through the streets, looking for a cab.
She was not herself when she awoke since Jun-Hee had entered her body through time travel. She was told by the police that she was hit with a blunt object behind the head and not in an accident.
People believed that Min-ju completely changed as a result of the experience. After Si-heon expressed interest in the altered Min-ju and inquired as to the cause of her abrupt change in conduct, Jun-hee responded that she was from the future and was currently residing in Min-ju’s body.
Si-heon initially had no faith in her, but over time, he came around. Only time travel could account for Minju’s enormous alteration. Jun-hee came to understand that the reason she was living Min-ju’s life was to figure out a method to save her from being killed on October 13, 1998.
She understood that whoever had attacked Min-ju must also have been responsible for her death. Since she had a vague memory of a boy in his school uniform attacking her, she concluded that the individual was someone from her school.
After some time, Jun-Hee discovered that she could travel across time if she used the tape recorder she was given to listen to the “Tears” album.
Even after assuming that Yeon-jun had survived the disaster and was trying to communicate with her, she found it difficult to make the connection between Yeon-jun and Min-ju.
Jun-Hee returned to the cafe in search of information after spending days attempting to solve the puzzle, and there, she eventually encountered Yeon-jun (Si-heon).
Si-heon was involved in a bus accident in 2002, which left him with serious injuries and permanently crippled legs, as revealed in A Time Called You.
When Jun-hee sought information, Si-heon was in the cafe. In 2002, after he returned from the United States, he attempted to meet In-gyu in a prison in South Korea. In-gyu was incarcerated for the murder of Min-ju after confessing to the crime.
Si-heon never lost faith in his friend, In-gyu, even though he was found guilty. In-gyu boarded a bus to head back to his hotel after declining to meet Si-heon.
He played the cassette that Min-ju had once given him on the tape recorder that he and In-gyu had given to Min-ju.
When the bus he was riding in was involved in an accident, the recorder kept recording, sending Si-heon to 2007, when he awoke as Yeon-jun. He soon found out that Yeon-jun had a car accident while Tae-ha, his crush, was the driver.
Yeon-jun survived the crash, but Si-heon had already begun to live in his body because Tae-ha did not. Si-heon’s only desire after emerging from Yeon-jun’s body was to meet Jun-hee.
He wanted to be sure to tell Jun-hee the truth this time because he never got to meet her after Min-ju’s passing.
Si-heon was determined to build a relationship with Jun-hee because that was how the story would end, and he had previously heard of Koo Yeon-jun through Han Jun-hee (Min-ju). Not to mention that Jun-hee was ignorant of her relationship with Min-ju.
When Si-heon (Yeon-jun) declared his love for her when they first met, Jun-hee originally freaked out. Si-heon recalled Jun-hee (Min-ju) talking about how Yeon-jun, her boyfriend, was the one who eventually started their relationship since he was always there for her and never forced her to date him.
When Si-heon did the same, Jun-hee eventually fell in love with him. This clarifies that Si-heon, who was the person inhabiting Yeon-jun’s body, was the man Jun-hee fell in love with rather than Yeon-jun.
That was the link between Si-heon and Jun-hee. Jun-hee left to work in New York before Si-heon could wed her. Si-heon (Yeon-jun) intended to surprise her in New York, but he was killed in an aircraft accident.
As a result, Si-heon (Yeon-jun’s spirit) returns to his body in 2002 after his physical body passes away. At the end of After A Time Called You, we learn that Si-heon and Jun-hee were still strangers, at least on the surface. Si-heon ultimately founded a webcomic business. He met Jun-hee while taking the bus home.
On the bus’ music, the song that linked all of their timelines was playing, and Jun-hee was familiar with its words. Si-heon followed Jun-hee off the bus as she exited.
He wasn’t sure why he was drawn to her, but he soon concluded that there was a mysterious bond between them that he could not risk losing.
The two were facing each other as they stood in the center of the street, hinting at a potential future they might share. They had a range of feelings even though they had no memory of their history.
They were brought together by fate, demonstrating that no matter what decisions they made in life, they would ultimately find one other.
