Director-writer William Mark McCullough has tried to show his real-life experiences in A Savannah Haunting, a horror thriller.
The movie begins with questions and answers asked by the producers, and the director’s sister talks about what it was like to reside in the house where the movie was made. When the director and his brothers and sisters were kids, they lived in the same house.
They said they had seen ghosts in that house. It sounds crazy, but as the plot of the movie moves forward, it slowly becomes creepy, a horror movie with thrilling scenes filled with jump scares.
What happens in the movie?
Eric Rancourt, played by Dean J. West, and Rachel Rancourt, played by Gena Shaw, moved to a house alongside their family, which was located deep inside a forest. Eric had a good bargain with the house, and it was huge.
But their daughter, played by Anna Harriette Pittman, was not feeling good about moving into the house. On the other hand, Andrew, played by Nico Tirozzi, was very excited to move in.
Eric was working in a construction business where he met James, played by Moses Jones, who was a local guy.
Eric invites James to his house for dinner. Other family members were facing many challenges in the new house. Rachel was trying to decorate the new house, but April was ignoring Rachel as she was not happy because they moved into the house.
Andrew was playing with an old doll. In between all this, James and Vanessa, his wife, played by Brittney Level, come in for dinner.
Vanessa began talking about Voodoo and other stuff, which Rachel only understood. Vanessa said that her grandmother was more into this stuff. Soon, Andrew began bleeding from his nose.
When Vanessa and James left, she told James that she did not have good vibes inside the house and didn’t want to come back. She also said that this house had some type of negative energy.
The movie’s ending
William was the first individual to own the land where the house was made. When William was alive, people had slaves for their profit. Josephine, played by Simbi Kali, who was Vanessa’s grandmother, said that William and his family hurt people based on their colors.
Josephine said that some portals in hell are used by demons to get back to Earth. The basement of William’s house had the same breach. The demon changed both of Lilath’s and William’s minds.
They believed that if they tortured and killed the prisoner, the demon would be happy. But that was not all. Soon after that, other people burned Lilath and William’s house.
Later, a new house was built on this place and the family that moved in before the Rancourt family lost their daughter. After this incident, they left the house to protect themselves from more damage.
Eric and Rachel stayed for a long, and now the demon is living with them. William despises that Eric had let Vanessa and James stay in their house and feed them dinner, and because of this, William kills Eric.
Still, Lilath’s actions needed a proper backstory; her actions had nothing to do with the backstory. Two things were happening in the house: the demon was slowly corrupting Rachel’s mind, and the ghosts of Alice, William, and Lilath were hellbent on destroying the house completely and killing everyone.
It is evident that they did that with Eric, but at the end of the movie, we see Dr. Livingston asking Rachel about Andrew and April’s dead bodies. It is safe to say that Rachel had something to do with their body going missing.
The events also tell that the three ghosts were under the influence of a Demon. It can be assumed that Eric might have ended up in the pit.
No matter where the bodies were, the officials could find all the answers in the basement, where Lilath and William tortured the prisoners to keep the demon happy.
