A 27-year-old Austin computer businessman named Zach Shallcross has resurfaced from The Bachelorette season 19, more often recognized as Gabby and Rachel’s trip. Zach was anxiously expecting the entrance of the 30 women in two limousines and a party bus at the start of week one.
A party bus brought in content publisher Christina Mandrell, age 27. Sean Lowe, a former contestant on The Bachelor, also visited Zach and shared some wisdom with him. The 39-year-old who wedded Catherine Giudici from season 17 of the famous The Bachelor remarked, “You have had to marry your closest friend.”
As the women came, Zach had some remarkable opening exchanges with a few of them. Jess Girod, a 22-year-old e-commerce manager, was the first person out of the limos and was visibly nervous. Ariel Frenkel arrived after Jess and informed Zach about her rough journey there after breaking her suitcase and missing her flight.

Recap of episode 1 of The Bachelor Season 27
Zach drank wine with South Carolina native Davia Bunch. After a tense introduction, Gabi Elnicki gave Zach a sample of Vermont maple syrup, which he didn’t like. Zach received four cheek smooches from Vienna native Viktoria Eichner.
As she approached the mansion, Cat Wong, a skilled dancer from New York City, yelled to Zach, “Love ya!” Willie, who was also featured in the Bachelorette episode “Just after Final Roses,” expressed regret for her inappropriate comments. She swore she wouldn’t do it throughout the season, but she appeared scared.
Florida-based nurse Katherine asked Zach to put sunblock on her face. With a trumpeter player, Vanessa Dinh, an Orleans native, gave Zach a taste of the French Quarter. A financial planner named Lekha Ravi licked Zach’s ear, making the meeting awkward.
Zach was introduced to Henry, the pig, by charity case manager Mercedes North. Bailey Brown, who previously appeared on “After the Final Rose,” made light of Zach’s incapacity to recall her name by donning a name tag and having a name tag attached.
Zach visited the Villa de La in Agoura Foothills, often referred to as “The Bachelor Mansion,” and greeted each woman before the drinking party began. Zach had several one-on-one conversations, but one in specific stuck in my mind.
A 26-year-old Dakotan businesswoman, M. Johnson, was determined to impact Zach, especially by kissing him. Madison broke participated in an uncomfortable practice and an even more uncomfortable smooch with Zach after her one-on-one, which did not live up to her hopes.
Following the forced embrace, Madison went outside and started crying for the first time this season. Zach proceeded to kiss the other girls in private. Zach went outside to talk with Jesse Palmer when Jesse Palmer returned to say the soiree was over, but he was cut off by a furious Madison who questioned whether Zach saw life with her.
The kiss was awful. Uncomfortable, Zach replied, “My heart’s not feeling it,” and then Madison vanished. Due to America’s First Impressions Rose & Zach’s Initial Impressions Rose, two women were considered safe at the Rose Ceremony.
After kissing, Brianna received the rose from America on the special, while Greer got Zach’s. Nine women were sent home once Madison had left and Brianna with Greer were secure. Charity, Christina, Bailey, Genevie, Jess, Davia, Kaity, Aly, Brooklyn, Anastasia, Katherine, Kylee, Gabi, Mercedes, Kimberly, Ariel, Victoria J, and Cat received roses in Zach’s order of selection.
Olivia M., Sonia, Lekha, Holland, Olivia L., Vanessa, Cara, Becca, & Viktoria E. was not given a rose and were taken home. According to the sneak peek, the following can be expected on the show airing the next week: Intense jealousy, horseback riding, sailing dates, partying, and somebody sobbing on the stairs. Zach was crying as well.
