Osman said that these fortresses belonged to him and that he would never surrender any land without first engaging in a war. Kantakuzenos also came at the same moment and began to discuss his recent arrangement with the Seljuks.
In order to prevent his city from being destroyed, Valida Sultan commanded Osman to turn over all the conquered castles to her. With his sword, Osman shattered the table, and he gave Ismihan a day to consider the offer.
Osman arrived at the house and requested to meet with Beys to discuss this matter after giving the offer some thought. The vast majority of Beys said that they would prefer to engage in war rather than hand away castles.
After hearing Beys, Osman was thrilled but declared that he was going to give the castles to Ismihan. A few of the boys left in frustration and joined Ismihan’s group.

In the meantime, Turgut warned Ismihan to avoid Konur because he was an Osman-faithful soldier. Osman learned that his plan had failed. He encountered Koniur in the woods, and Koniur told him about Ismihan’s final nighttime chat with Olof and Turgut.
