The world was in complete chaos when the news came out that their beloved HyunA and Dawn were leaving P NATION behind.
The two K-pop artists were initially a part of a trio formed by Cube Entertainment called Tripple H alongside Hui.
However, HyunA and Dawn later moved on to P NATION after their contracts were terminated.
HyunA, Dawn and P NATION – How did it come to be?
In 2019, HyunA and Dawn signed contacts with the P NATION label. But how exactly did they get there?
Going back to the year 2016, when the two were a part of Tripple H, a K-pop trio, HyunA and Dawn began to date secretly. However, it was not until two years later, in August of 2018, that the world became aware of their relationship.

All relationships have their ups and downs, especially the relationships of stars. Cube Entertainment, their label then, was unhappy about their relationship being made public. This was primarily because dating is considered taboo in the K-pop industry.
Yet, without the label’s consent, HyunA and Dawn decided to go ahead and make their relationship officially known by joining forces with Yonhap, a Korean news agency.
The results? Cube Entertainment terminated their contracts by September! This led the duo to the new label – P NATION.
HyunA and Dawn’s history with P NATION
P NATION was launched by PSY and as per him signing contracts with HyunA and Dawn was indeed very crucial. And that is precisely what he told Billboard.
PSY stated that “they dance together, they write songs together, and they compete with each other… it’s very creative.” How beautiful indeed.
Under the care of P NATION, HyunA released several EPs as well as the hit single titled “I’m Not Cool.” All of this paved her way for a comeback like never before and she stood with her head held high at the very top of the charts.
While HyunA was getting herself drenched in fame and fortune, Dawn was out there carving his name. He released “Money” and “Dawndididawn,” his first two solos.
It was in the year 2021, that the two decided to merge forces and released a joint EP named “HyunA&Dawn.” The single “Ping Pong” gained a lot of attention and has over 110 million views.
Why did HyunA and Dawn leave P NATION?
But if things were going so well for them, why did they decide to leave the label behind?
It was on the 29th of August that the world came to know about HyunA and Dawn walking away from their label. P NATION put out an official statement announcing that after spending 3 years together, the duo’s contracts had recently expired.
Here is the complete statement released by P NATION:
“Hello. This is P NATION.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to all of you who have given much love and interest to HyunA and DAWN.
This is to inform you that P NATION’s exclusive contracts with HyunA and DAWN have recently expired.
HyunA, DAWN, and HyunA&DAWN embroidered the colours of P NATION splendidly with bold music and unique visuals and performances that only they could pull off. And their passion as artists and their care and sincerity towards the staff has made them role models for everyone.
All the members of P NATION will cherish the pleasant memories of working with HyunA and DAWN for a long time, and we will continue to support their activities in the future.
Thank you to the many fans who care for HyunA and DAWN, and we ask for your continued warm encouragement and support.
Thank you.”
After they departed from the label, HyunA and Dawn continued to create music together without being under any label.
However, HyunA tweeted “We broke up” on 30 November 2022, stating that the two have now called quits after dating each other for nearly 6 years.
