Wednesday, a Tim Burton-created television series based on Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) of the Addams family, has recently been made available on Netflix for the whole first season.
The Addams Family has a long and illustrious past, but the new show has expanded it into a world of “outcasts,” or people with supernatural ties and talents. They stand in stark contrast to the “normies,” or regular people, who live in the neighborhood close to Wednesday’s boarding school, Nevermore Academy.
You’re not alone if you can’t stop thinking about Wednesday’s chaotic finale. With Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) putting together generations’ worth of struggle to find the truth, the spin whodunnit takes you on an exhilarating ride.
You’re also not alone if you’ve felt overwhelmed by the mountains of data that the show’s finale reveals. Without further ado, let’s dive into the land of Nevermore and the egregious hints Tim Burton dropped during the first episode. Should we start?
What Happened In The Series Wednesday So Far?
Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones) think their child might eventually find her footing at Nevermore Academy, a private high school outside of Jericho, given Wednesday’s history of dismissals and social awkwardness.
The school is essentially Hogwarts gone gothic, with a student body made up of “outcasts,” including sirens, gorgons, werewolves, and a sizable proportion of kids with mental powers. However, there are problems in Nevermore: a monster is stalking its students and terrorizing the area’s woodlands.
As the story continues, we learn that the monster in Nevermore is a hyde, a rare animal (yes, like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde). It resembles a human who has the capacity to change into a large, ravenous monster. Only with the intervention of a third party, hypnosis, medications, or a stressful event can a hyde be roused.
The person eventually gains the ability to change into a hyde whenever their controlling counterpart requests it. Wednesday is at a strange epicenter in this mystery because it is obvious that the hyde and its creator are after her, and everything that is happening is tightly linked to Wednesday’s family history.
Wednesday Series Ending Explained
In the Wednesday season 1 finale, the titular character engages Tyler and his master in combat as they send Joseph Crackstone back to Nevermore Academy to kill all the outcasts.
When Tyler admits to being the Hyde, Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams must gather her friends and prepare for the assaults that will unavoidably take place at the school. Just as Wednesday is going to be sent back to her family, she finds out that Miss Thornhill, true name Laurel Gates, is the murderer in command of Tyler’s Hyde.
After Laurel admits her plot to kill Principal Weems and send Joseph Crackstone back to finish his objective to rid the world of outcasts, Christina Ricci’s character kills Principal Weems.
The tense Wednesday season 1 finale then shows that Laurel and Tyler are reanimating Joseph Crackstone using the body pieces of the deceased victims. Joseph Crackstone then stabs Wednesday.
But when Wednesday’s ancestor Goody shows up again to heal and scream queen Jenna Ortega’s persona, Wednesday is able to rejoin her classmates, murder Joseph Crackstone again, and save Nevermore.
Tyler is left alive after being attacked by Enid, and Hyde is re-locked while restrained, while Wednesday and Eugene appear to kill Laurel. In the closing scenes of Wednesday season 1, the characters are leaving for the break, and Wednesday is given a cell phone by Xavier before getting threatening texts from an unknown “stalker.”
What To Expect From Upcoming Season Of Wednesday?
As soon as Xavier gave her a phone, Wednesday’s first stalker began sending her ominous messages. Despite the fact that Wednesday didn’t spend much time online, it seems odd that she met a stalker immediately after receiving a call from Xavier.
In Season 1 of Wednesday, Tyler was taken in chains to either a psychiatric facility or a maximum security prison. The viewers was misled into thinking that Tyler had murdered all the armed guards since Tyler transitioned into his Hyde form before being entirely brought to the prison.
When Wednesday Season 2 Will Be Renewed?
When it premieres on November 23, 2022, it will be too soon for Netflix to continue the programme. Any program’s decision to be renewed is influenced by a number of variables, including the cost of production and viewership. What’s on Netflix, however, has the following to say about Wednesday Season 2:
A remarkable performance is anticipated on Wednesday, and over the coming weeks, we can look forward to some amazing viewership figures. We may anticipate hearing more about the potential renewal after Netflix is satisfied with the show’s performance.
Where You Can Stream The Series Wednesday?
