Our Blues Episode 18 Recap
In Our Blues Episode 18, Dong Seok was all set to meet Seon Ah, as she previously told him how seeing him would make her happy. However, a call from his mother left him a bit agitated. It was about taking her to Mokpo for his stepfather’s memorial service. She wanted him to pick her up, and this time she wasn’t willing to hear anything from him. It was only Dong Seok whom she wanted to accompany her.
He ignores what she had to say; however, that incident occupied a space inside his mind. Later, Eun Hee called him and gave him a check on his mother’s condition. That was the time Dong Seok got to know about his mother’s terminal cancer. However, for that time, he shrugged it off, though the thought kept lurking inside his mind. Later on, when he was waiting for Seon Ah outside her office premises, he witnessed her with Yeol and his father. They looked happy together, and Dong Seok left there. Though Seon Ah couldn’t see him, she recognized his truck.
Meanwhile, life finally showed light at the end of the tunnel for Choon Hui. Man Su regained his consciousness and united with his family. The entire Jeju is happy about it, given the fact that all of them prayed so hard for Man Su to recover. Amidst all of this, Eun Hee and others gathered at Young Ok’s restaurant and tried their best to persuade Dong Seok to take his mother to Mokpo. That was the time when he revealed bits from his past and why he resented his mother so much. When his father’s sister passed away, his mother right after that married his father’s friend. In front of their eyes, his mother used to share a room with another person. Once Dong Seok even prepared everything so that both of them could leave, however, his mother stayed.
However, his heart completely broke when his mother called him a thief and instructed him to never call her his mother. From that time, he behaved with her as his aunt. After this, Dong Seok stormed outside the restaurant. Young Ok told everyone to leave him alone. After all, one has to place themselves in others’ shoes to understand what they are feeling.
Dong Seok got in a call with Seon Ah, where he mentioned his confusion regarding the matter. She told him to do what his heart preferred. However, if she was in his place, she would want to know from her father the reason he died by suicide in front of his daughter. When Dong Seok asked her about her current feelings regarding Yeol’s father, Seon Ah brushed it off, saying that there is nothing between them, and she harbors feelings for Dong Seok now.
Back at the Jeju market, Dong Seok agreed in front of everyone to take his mother to Mokpo. However, he had his share of reasons. They were supposed to the dock by 4 am, but due to certain hindrances, the ship left them behind, leaving Dong Seok with loads of questions inside his mind.
