Starz’s Gaslit Season 1 Episode 6, starring Julia Roberts, sees the fallout from Martha speaking and putting a severe strain on her marriage. After that, the FBI draws closer to answers on the Watergate break-in. So, what can John Dean do? Will he be forced to come clean, or will he spill the beans? We will have to find out. In case you are not familiar with Gaslit, it is a period piece from the 1970s covering —yet another angle— a well-known story: the Watergate scandal from a female perspective. From a woman who had a perspective of how the men in power colluded with the president of the United States to obstruct justice. Without further ado, let’s cover this episode.
Gaslit Episode 5 Recap
The journalists are eager for answers. Little ole Martha is pitted against Peter and his camp. John is furious that Martha continues to stir the pot. Nixon relies on John Dean to resolve this minor issue, which has quickly escalated into a massive one. John Dean, who has only recently reconciled with Mo, is experiencing the same pressure as John, who is being questioned about his involvement in the Watergate break-in.
The judge informs James and Gordon that he has received a letter from James. Gordon tries to accuse James of being a rat in court. John is irritated because Nixon does not return his calls. John’s secretary says she will assist him with anything and touches his hand. John learns that James has become an informant.
Martha’s Discovery
Winnie is having lunch with Martha when she mentions that she can’t find Martha’s father’s death certificate when he discovers that Jay, Martha, and John’s son were not fighting in the war. Because of James’ letter, John Dean is forced to cancel his honeymoon. Nixon gives Camp David to John Dean for a honeymoon vacation with Mo. Nixon requested that John Dean draft an investigative letter declaring that the White House had nothing to do with Watergate. John Dean refuses to do it and is concerned about being charged.
The FBI Closes In
Pat, the FBI director, is presiding over a Watergate team meeting. He admits to giving information to those inside the White House who the FBI is investigating. When John Dean and Mo arrive at Camp David, he is summoned to Bob Halderman’s office, believing he is meeting with Nixon. Bob is attempting to frame John for the Watergate scandal. John recalls all of the various schemes that Bob and the others have worked on together.
Magruder Breaks
Agents Paul and Angelo discuss a deal with Jeb Magruder. They inform Jeb that whoever speaks first gets the sweetheart deal. Jeb is deafeningly silent. Mo hears Nixon on the news at Camp David declaring that John Dean will write the investigative report on the White House’s involvement in the Watergate break-in. Mo doesn’t understand why John Dean is upset when he phones Bob and complains about being appointed head of the investigation report. Martha overhears John and his secretary discussing an affair.
Agents Paul and Angelo are spying out of Jeb’s home and discussing racial injustice inside the FBI. John Dean informs Mo of everything he knows about Watergate. Mo tells John Dean that he must speak the truth. Winnie meets Jay and Sharon, Jay’s girlfriend. Sharon informs Winnie that Martha abandoned Jay and lied about his service. Martha and John are at odds over his affair. While visiting boarding schools, John gets into a physical altercation with another father. Following that, John experiences a seizure and is unable to breathe.
John Dean Spills The Beans
Jeb’s wife appears to speak with agents Paul and Angelo concerning Jeb. She instructs them to depart and that Jeb will be turned in within a day. Winnie goes to Martha’s residence to see how Martha and John are doing. Martha informs Winnie that John had high blood pressure following the incident. Later, we see Martha is in bed, and the house is a shambles. Martha is writing Winnie’s biography, but she refuses to work on it.
Frances, Gordon’s wife, brings their children to see him in jail. Gordon advises his three sons that they must be strong. John Dean visits John to discuss the investigation report. We see that John Dean informs John that he will investigate his options. John Dean will speak up and tell the truth. Martha informs John that she will be testifying for the committee against Nixon!

Gaslit Season 1 Episode 6 will release on Starz on May 29, 2022. Firstly, the episode will last one hour, and it will be titled “Tuffy” the script was penned by Sofya Levitsky-Weitz, Robbie Pickering, and Uzoamaka Maduka. Lastly, the episode was written by Matt Ross.
