Thor: Love and Thunder is yet another MCU juggernaut due to release this year, succeeding the soon-to-hit-theatres multiversal madness that’s Doctor Strange 2. The fourth outing of the Asgardian god’s franchise, Thor 4, is shaping up to be just as big a phenomenon as its predecessors are. Spiderman: No Way Home was truly a nerd-culture landmark. Following the hype of NWH, now Multiverse of Madness is on its way to making billions at the box office.
However, arguably the biggest hype MCU fans ought to have must be for the fourth installment in the Thor franchise. As anticipated as the film is, however, there has been a drastic drought of any promotional content to build on the hype. The film is now just over 90 days away from release. However, we haven’t received a single teaser or trailer clip for Thor: Love and Thunder so far, which recently amounted to a record for the film. The situation is dire as the gap between the first trailer and the eventual release date of an MCU outing has shrunk incredibly thin.
Thor: Love and Thunder’s New Record & The Previous Record Holder
So incredibly thin that the film has now broken an MCU record for the shortest amount of time between the release date and the first trailer. Before Thor: Love and Thunder, it was The Incredible Hulk that held that record. It was 93 days before the release date that we got our first trailer for The Incredible Hulk. And now the detestable record belongs to Thor 4. The fans, who obviously hate the kind of record that the film now champions, are dying to get a sneak peek. So far, there hasn’t been anything on the internet that reveals or teases a smidge about the superhero outing.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theatres on July 8, 2022, with what the director Taika Waititi claims is his wildest project yet. That’s a riveting and a grand claim, seeing how his last MCU project was a wild ride itself. The director has a penchant for going overboard and bringing in an eclectic range of things and characters in his movies.
He also has a penchant for lying. In fact, he got his MCU gig because of a lie as well. These lies often lead to several delays in the filmmaking stage. This might be the reason behind the reshoots that Christian Bale has been working on for Thor 4. These reshoots, subsequently, have likely led to the delay in the start of the promotional campaign. Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale, among others.
