Legendary anime studio Toei Animation is returning to New York Comic Con (NYCC) this year with a special celebration of three beloved franchises: Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Digimon. At NYCC 2024, Toei Animation will spotlight these fan-favorite series with a mix of celebrity panels and exciting fan experiences.
The studio’s exhibit booth (#2635) will feature two pop-up shops, including the popular Toei Animation X Dim Mak Pop-Up Shop. This shop will offer a curated selection of One Piece merchandise such as hoodies, t-shirts, and shorts, along with exclusive NYCC releases like a Straw Hats crew puffer tote bag, Egghead Luffy skate deck, and an enamel pin collection.
For the first time at NYCC, Toei Animation will also present the Mugiwara Store Pop-Up Shop, recreating the famous Japanese retail concept and the world’s largest official One Piece store.
This shop will feature exclusive One Piece merchandise previously available only in Japan, including items from the new Harajuku store. Fans can visit these unique shopping experiences at the Toei Animation booth during regular NYCC hours.
Toei Animation’s panel schedule kicks off with the Dragon Ball DAIMA Special Panel on Day One, Thursday, October 17, at 12:45 pm on the Empire Stage. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, Toei Animation will share insights into the creation of the new world in Dragon Ball DAIMA.
Host Monica Rial (English voice of Bulma) will be joined by Akio Iyoku (Executive Producer of the Dragon Ball DAIMA series) and other special guests. Before the panel, there will be an encore screening of the premiere episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA with English subtitles.
Later on Day One, at 3:30 pm in Room 409, Toei Animation will host the Digimon Adventure Panel. Special guest Hiromi Seki, a Digimon expert and the “Mother of Sunday Morning Anime,” will join Host Justin Rojas to discuss the history and future of Digimon Adventure.
Seki has been involved with the series since its beginning, including producing the original Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02.
On Day Two, Friday, October 18, at 12:45 pm on the Empire Stage, Toei Animation will present the One Piece Panel. The panel will feature Producer Ryuta Koike, Series Director Satoshi Ito, and Creative Director Masayuki Takagi, who are behind the hit One Piece episodic series.
Host Jacki Jing will lead the discussion with the creative team and English dub cast members Colleen Clinkenbeard (voice of Luffy) and Christopher Sabat (voice of Zoro).
Attendees are encouraged to share their experiences using the hashtag #TA_NYCC on social media from both the panels and exhibition booth.
