Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen is an extremely popular and powerful character known for being the strongest sorcerer alive.
His unique ability, Infinity, allows him to control the space between himself and others, making him immune to physical attacks.
Coupled with his powerful Domain Expansion and the exceptional Six-Eyes ability, Gojo is nearly unbeatable.
Despite Gojo’s strength, the series features other sorcerers who come close to his level of power, though none can truly defeat him in a serious fight.
These characters present significant challenges and keep the story interesting, highlighting Gojo’s unique abilities while showcasing the potential of other strong sorcerers in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe.
1) Kenjaku
Kenjaku is one of the most dangerous villains in Jujutsu Kaisen, having lived for over a thousand years. Unlike other sorcerers, he achieves this longevity by using a special technique to transplant his brain into different bodies.
This allows him to take on the abilities and powers of those he inhabits. Currently, he has taken the form of Suguru Geto, and in the past, he has also been in Noritoshi Kamo’s body.
Kenjaku switches bodies not only to stay alive but also to use the unique powers of his hosts. He is one of the strongest characters in the series, as shown by his quick defeat and consumption of Mahito.
Although he cannot defeat Satoru Gojo in a direct fight, Kenjaku can still pose a significant threat to the world’s strongest sorcerer.
2) Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta Okkotsu, introduced in the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, quickly proved himself as a formidable sorcerer protagonist.
He is one of the four Special Grade sorcerers acknowledged by Jujutsu High. Yuta initially drew power from the cursed spirit Rika, known as the Queen of Curses.
Even after Rika’s soul departed, Yuta retains her essence, maintaining his extraordinary strength. Satoru Gojo believes Yuta has the potential to surpass him, a tribute to Yuta’s capabilities.
He defeated Suguru Geto, another Special Grade sorcerer, and was entrusted with a shocking task in Season 2. Yuta continues to be a powerful force, yet it seems he still has untapped potential.
3) Suguru Geto
Suguru Geto, once a formidable Special Grade sorcerer and Satoru Gojo’s close friend and rival, possessed the ability of Cursed Spirit Manipulation.
This technique allowed him to control numerous cursed spirits he had captured throughout his life, enhancing his offensive and defensive capabilities significantly.
Considered a major threat by many sorcerers due to the versatility of his technique, Geto waged war against Jujutsu High before meeting his demise at the hands of Gojo.
However, his body was later manipulated by Kenjaku, who now assumes Geto’s form and powers.
4) Yuji Itadori
Yuji Itadori, the protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen, was already incredibly strong before he ate Sukuna’s finger. In one of the first anime scenes, he sets a world record in shot put during a casual competition with his teacher.
After consuming part of the King of Curses, Yuji gains access to cursed energy and quickly learns to control and use it effectively.
Gojo is impressed by Yuji’s ability to balance his emotions with his cursed energy. Yuji even sets a record for the most consecutive uses of Black Flash.
Despite losing his first fight against Sukuna, Yuji never gives up, especially when his friends are in danger. While he’s not yet at Gojo’s level, Yuji has shown immense potential for growth.
5) Naobito Zenin
Naobito Zenin, head of the esteemed Zenin Family and a Special Grade 1 sorcerer, defies appearances with his prowess.
Despite seeming like a drunken elder, Naobito possesses overwhelming cursed energy and impressive physical abilities, including remarkable speed only surpassed by Gojo himself.
His sharp intellect allows him to anticipate and outmaneuver opponents in battle. During a battle against the Special Grade curse Dagon, Naobito showcased his superiority over Maki and Nanami, although Maki had yet to unleash her full potential.
However, he struggled against the intense flames of another Special Grade curse, Jogo, a foe easily handled by Gojo.
Despite this setback, Naobito’s combat experience puts him not far behind Gojo in terms of skill and capability.
6) Aoi Todo
Aoi Todo is an eccentric Grade 1 sorcerer whose achievements are impressive. During Geto’s Night Line attack in Kyoto, he defeated five Grade 1 cursed spirits without using his Innate Technique.
He only needed his Boogie Woogie ability when fighting stronger enemies like Mahito and Hanami. Todo’s physical strength rivals Yuji’s, and he shows great control over his cursed energy, especially in his fight against Hanami.
His Boogie Woogie technique allows him to switch places with anything that has cursed energy just by clapping his hands, making him unpredictable and tough to fight.
Even as a student, Todo’s potential is vast, and he hasn’t reached his full power yet.
7) Kento Nanami
Kento Nanami is known as an exceptional Grade 1 sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, capable of fighting Special Grade curses on his own.
His battle with the Special Grade curse Mahito highlights his strength, as he managed to land several hits and survive a direct attack on his soul.
Nanami combines his skill with a sharp intellect and deep understanding of cursed energy. Nanami quickly figured out most of Mahito’s abilities and is one of the few sorcerers to use a binding vow.
Gojo respects Nanami greatly after seeing his Innate Technique in action. Unfortunately, Nanami was eventually defeated and killed by Mahito, leaving Yuji devastated.
8) Megumi Fushiguro
Megumi Fushiguro, a member of the Zenin Clan, has limitless potential as a sorcerer. He uses the Ten Shadows Technique to summon shikigami for battle.
With his strong intellect, physical abilities, and abundant cursed energy, Megumi is a powerful opponent, even against Special Grade curses.
Sukuna’s interest in Megumi highlights his latent power. Despite his usual indifference, Sukuna refuses to kill Megumi, which is unusual for the ruthless King of Curses.
While Megumi isn’t at Gojo’s level yet, he has the potential to surpass his mentor if he masters controlling Mahoraga.
9) Hajime Kashimo
Hajime Kashimo, also known as the God of Lightning, is introduced in the Culling Game arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. He originally lived four centuries ago but was reincarnated by Kenjaku.
Kashimo’s main goal is to fight the King of Curses. He has unique powers that make him a formidable opponent.
Kashimo easily defeated Panda using his intelligence and electrified cursed energy. He is the only person known to turn his cursed energy into electricity, giving him strong offensive and defensive abilities.
He doesn’t need to expand his domain to strike effectively, and his Hollow Wicker Basket technique makes him even more dangerous. Even Gojo would recognize Kashimo’s potential.
10) Hiromi Higuruma
Hiromi Higuruma is introduced in the Culling Game arc of Jujutsu Kaisen. Formerly a defense lawyer passionate about true justice, he dedicated his career to defending the wrongfully accused until a disastrous case changed his path.
As a genius, he quickly mastered the art of Jujutsu after gaining access to cursed energy. In his first battle with Yuji, Hiromi demonstrated his immense power alongside his shikigami, Judgeman.
He can create a court with Judgeman as the judge, putting his opponent on trial and potentially executing them instantly with Deadly Sentencing.
While Gojo might be able to break free from Hiromi’s Domain Expansion, it would be a difficult task. Few characters could survive a fight with Hiromi.
11) Yuki Tsukumo
In Jujutsu Kaisen, there are only four known Special Grade sorcerers, and Yuki Tsukumo is one of them.
Although her powers haven’t been fully revealed in the anime, manga readers know she is incredibly strong and experienced.
Yuki doesn’t work under any official Jujutsu organization; instead, she follows her own beliefs to achieve similar goals.
Aoi Todo, a powerful sorcerer and Yuji’s best friend, became a Grade 1 sorcerer thanks to Yuki’s guidance. Her unique ability, called Star Rage, involves manipulating mass.
Along with her shikigami, Garuda, Yuki is a formidable force in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe.
12) Kinji Hakari
Kinji Hakari is a powerful sorcerer from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, yet to appear in the anime. He was suspended from Tokyo Jujutsu High but is known for his immense strength.
Gojo has mentioned Hakari alongside other potential successors who could surpass him in power. Hakari’s reputation alone speaks volumes, and Yuta has acknowledged his formidable abilities, especially when focused.
In the manga, he demonstrated his combat skills by overpowering Yuji. One of his standout abilities, Idle Death Gamble, allows him to enter an invincible state called Unkillable Mode, granting him limitless cursed energy.
13) Fumihiko Takaba
Fumihiko Takaba, a former comedian, appears to be a comic relief character in Jujutsu Kaisen. He is clumsy and lacks a real sense of humor, though he thinks he’s funny.
His unique comedy style ties into his Innate Technique, Comedian, which is not what one might expect from the name.
If Takaba could master his technique, he could challenge even Satoru Gojo. Comedian relies on Takaba’s self-confidence, turning anything he finds funny into reality.
This ability confuses enemies, as seen in his battle with Kenjaku. Despite this, Takaba’s cursed energy output is low, making his combat potential limited.
14) Toge Inumaki
The Inumaki Family, known for their Cursed Speech ability, holds significant respect in Jujutsu. Toge Inumaki, the inheritor of this power, commands obedience from most adversaries using his Innate Technique.
Inumaki, a second-year at Jujutsu High, has made notable appearances in the series, showcasing his abilities against formidable opponents like Todo and Hanami.
Despite the limitations of his technique, Toge has also developed impressive physical prowess, although he ranks slightly below exceptional individuals like Yuji and Todo. Geto recognizes Toge’s potential, highlighting his skills and future prospects as a sorcerer.
15) Kokichi Muta
Kokichi Muta, a student at Kyoto Jujutsu High, relies on his proxy Ultimate Mechamaru due to his frail health from a Heavenly Restriction.
Despite this limitation, Muta’s mastery over his puppets, especially Mechamaru, earned him the rank of Semi-Grade 1 Jujutsu sorcerer.
With an immense amount of cursed energy spanning Japan, Muta can control his Puppet Manipulation technique over vast distances.
In his battle against Mahito, Muta nearly defeated the powerful Special Grade curse by unleashing all his cursed energy at once.
Tragically, he underestimated his opponent and lost his life to Mahito. Despite this, Muta prepared mini-Mechamarus to carry out his wishes after his death.
