Midnight Society, the game studio behind DEADROP, has announced the termination of its relationship with Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm.
This decision follows their own investigation into recent allegations concerning Dr. Disrespect’s ban from Twitch, though the specifics remain unconfirmed.
On Friday evening we became aware of an allegation against one of our co-founder’s Guy Beahm aka Dr Disrespect.
We assumed his innocence and began speaking with parties involved. And in order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act.…

The decision by Midnight Society to terminate its relationship with Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm was reportedly made after consulting with relevant parties, although specific details on who these parties are have not been disclosed.
This move is likely to have a considerable impact on both the studio and the game DEADROP, given that Dr. Disrespect’s fans, who were a significant part of its audience, have now shifted their support following this decision.
The allegations made by Cody Conners, former Account Director of Strategic Partnership at Twitch, are related to alleged inappropriate contact with a minor using Twitch services.
These allegations have been a focal point in discussions surrounding Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm’s ban from Twitch and the subsequent actions taken by Midnight Society regarding their relationship with him.
He got banned because got caught sexting a minor in the then existing Twitch whispers product. He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon. The powers that be could read in plain text.
Case closed, gang.

Later, Dr. Disrespect issued another statement, addressing the situation further.
Listen, I’m obviously tied to legal obligations from the settlement with Twitch but I just need to say what I can say since this is the fucking internet.
I didn’t do anything wrong, all this has been probed and settled, nothing illegal, no wrongdoing was found, and I was paid.…

At this point, an investigation was already underway, as confirmed by Midnight Society studio director Robert Bowling on the day the allegations broke.
I’m now aware and I’m dealing with it.

The separation between Midnight Society and Dr. Disrespect occurred today. Last night, an article from The Verge cited a second anonymous Twitch employee corroborating Cody Conners’ original claim.
Prior to this development, Dr. Disrespect ended his stream, expressing intentions to take an extended break or possibly retire altogether, mentioning a desire to move away from the limelight and highlighting the abundance of alternative streamers available.
Approximately an hour later, Midnight Society issued their statement regarding the termination of their relationship with Dr. Disrespect.
Dr. Disrespect currently streams on YouTube, having moved there after his ban from Twitch. Whether he will indeed stop streaming or if there will be further developments in this situation remains to be seen. As of now, Beahm has not been available for comment.
