Kafka commits to eradicating the defeated Yoju cores while Mina uses her large weapon to attack the Honju. Hoshina advises Kafka to observe Mina, who defeats the Honju with three shots, impressing everyone.

Despite the Honju falling, Mina fires another round to ensure it is fully neutralized. Hoshina then demonstrates his close-range combat skills by swiftly taking down a Yoju and shares his family’s history of kaiju slaying with Kafka.

He mentions that the Captain and Vice Captain of the Defense Corps have weapons tailored to their fighting styles and tells Kafka to prepare for another battle.

Although the Honju is defeated, Yoju begins spawning from its body. Despite Okonogi’s concerns about the recruits’ exhaustion, Hoshina believes this challenge will push them to excel.

He sees potential in Reno and Kikoru to become captains someday. Meanwhile, Iharu and Reno encounter a Monster Sweeper, Inc. worker on the battlefield.

The worker reveals he placed the reproductive organs in the Yoju but is angered that someone destroyed them. He demands to know who in the Defense Force uncovered his scheme, ending the episode on a tense note.
