The Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga series has unexpectedly gone on an indefinite hiatus, as revealed at the end of Chapter 130 in the 24th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday on May 8. The announcement did not include any details regarding the reason or the length of the hiatus.
This isn’t the first break for the series, as it recently resumed after a one-month hiatus in April. Currently, readers can access the series via Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic website.
Created by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, the manga began serialization in 2020 and has since amassed 13 tankobon volumes. The series also saw an anime adaptation by Madhouse, which aired from September 2023 to March 2023 and is available on Crunchyroll and Muse Asia in select regions.
Viz Media handles the English versions of the manga and provides a synopsis of the plot: After the passing of a friend, Frieren, faced with her own near-immortality, tries to fulfill her comrades’ final wishes, thus initiating a new adventure.
