Legendary wrestler Ric Flair is a pop culture icon, even being referenced in the hit song “Ric Flair Drip.” However, despite the song’s success, it seems Flair didn’t benefit financially as much as the song’s creators.
Legend Reveals Unequal Earnings!
Released in 2017, “Ric Flair Drip” by Offset and Metro Boomin became a major hit. Flair himself even appeared in the music video. Recently, on the JAXXON PODCAST, Flair revealed the shocking financial disparity between him and the artists.
While the song generated millions for others involved, Flair only received $39,000. He explained he didn’t have an agent to negotiate a fair deal at the time.
“I didn’t have an agent,” Flair said. “They made $48 million, I made 39 grand… I didn’t have a contract with them.”
Flair admits this was a mistake, especially considering his health struggles at the time. He revealed he had just gotten out of the hospital and didn’t have full mental capacity.
While Flair may not be able to change the past, his story serves as a reminder for anyone entering into deals to have proper representation to protect their interests.
