Eve and Deu (PEOPLE 1) surprised fans with a stunning music video release for their collaboration track “Like The Flatwoods Monster,” which received the signature MAPPA treatment.
The track, stemming from their ending theme contributions to the 2022 TV anime ‘Chainsaw Man,’ seamlessly blends Eve’s powerful vocals with Deu’s solid rap flow.
Dropped digitally on May 3rd, the single not only showcases the dynamic synergy between Eve and Deu but also receives a visual upgrade courtesy of MAPPA, the esteemed animation studio behind ‘Chainsaw Man,’ ‘Jujutsu Kaisen,’ and ‘Attack on Titan Season 4.’
Eve, initially known for his utaite covers of Vocaloid songs, has solidified his position in the anime music scene since his debut album ‘OFFICIAL NUMBER’ in 2016. With critically acclaimed collaborations with hit anime series like ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ and ‘My Hero Academia,’ Eve has garnered international acclaim.
His chart-topping hits, such as ‘Dramaturgy,’ boasting over 170 million views on YouTube, and successful albums like ‘Otogi’ and ‘Smile,’ further cement his global popularity. Notably, ‘Kaikai Kitan / Ao no Waltz’ topped the Oricon daily ranking and emerged as the most-streamed Japanese song on Spotify internationally in 2021.
PEOPLE 1, consisting of Deu (vocals, guitar, bass, other), Takeuchi (drums), and Ito (vocals, guitar), burst onto the scene in December 2019 with their debut collection ‘Taishu Ongaku’ (Popular Music).
However, their breakthrough moment arrived in 2022 when their track ‘DOGLAND’ was featured as the ending theme for the anime ‘Chainsaw Man,’ amassing a collective 42 million streams on YouTube and Spotify.
