Comedian and television host Andy Lee joyously declared his engagement to his beloved partner, Rebecca Harding, marking a decade of shared companionship, to the elation of their devoted followers.
In a heartwarming revelation, the 42-year-old Lee chose the platform of the latest episode of the renowned “Hamish And Andy” podcast, revealed precisely at midnight on May 1, to share this significant milestone with their loyal audience.
After the Melbourne-based Lee revealed he had asked Harding to marry him, co-host Hamish Blake joked:
“Is it a bit quick? That’s all I want to ask.”
Blake further expressed the depth of his emotions, revealing that both he and his wife were moved to tears of joy upon receiving the news.
Following this heartfelt disclosure, 33-year-old Harding took to Instagram, sharing a snapshot of herself adorned with a dazzling diamond ring. In a defiant caption, she addressed the naysayers, asserting,
“People keep saying we’ve rushed into this, but we don’t care what people say!”
Lee’s serendipitous encounter with Harding in 2014, during her tenure at a local café, is a tale known far and wide.
His audacious approach of leaving his personal email on a napkin led to their first date—a moment that would later be immortalized as he recreated it during his proposal, kneeling before Harding and presenting her with yet another napkin.
“When I was down there, I stayed on one knee and I gave her another napkin — because when I first met her at the cafe, I wrote on a napkin my details — and I gave her another napkin,” Lee said.
This time, the napkin bore a poignant message: “Will you marry me?” alongside a dazzling engagement ring, symbolizing the next chapter in their journey together.
Their relationship came into the public eye for the first time during the 2015 Australian Open, marking a significant milestone in their love story.
Engagement speculations had been circulating for years, intensifying notably in 2020 when the couple shared a tender embrace in a photo commemorating Harding’s 30th birthday.
