With the recent development in the My Hero Academia manga where Izuku Midoriya relinquishes his One For All quirk, leaving him essentially without a quirk, fans are left wondering if there’s any possibility of the quirk returning to Deku.
One intriguing theory suggests that Tomura Shigaraki could play a pivotal role in this potential comeback of One For All.
During the intense battle against Shigaraki, Deku and the vestiges of One For All decided to transfer the quirk’s quirks to Shigaraki in a bid to defeat him from within. However, this plan was thwarted when All For One took over Shigaraki’s body, lamenting Deku for destroying Yoichi and the One For All quirk.
Shigaraki’s Redemption
While it seems that One For All has vanished from existence, it’s important to note that Deku transferred the vestiges to Shigaraki rather than destroying them outright. This opens up the possibility that One For All might still be present within Tenko Shimura’s body.
Building on this notion, a My Hero Academia fan theorized on X (@ReconNarwhal) that Deku could regain One For All if Shigaraki decided to transfer it back to him.
#MHA421 #MHASpoilers Theory Time. Since Yoichi is gone, the only way OFA could be transferred back to Deku would be to use AFO’s ability to bestow quirks. What if Yoichi’s statement about how AFO’s quirk could be the kindest quirk was foreshadowing to Tenko returning OFA to Deku? pic.twitter.com/rjCPsUX2yB

Given Shigaraki’s newfound knowledge about All For One’s role in bestowing him with the Decay quirk, he might harbor a desire for revenge against his master. This potential animosity could lead Shigaraki to collaborate with Deku, his former adversary, to betray All For One.
If Shigaraki gains some control over his body, he could use the opportunity to utilize the All For One quirk to return the One For All quirk to Deku. This theory draws upon the statement made by Yoichi, the first One For All user, about the nature of the All For One quirk potentially being benevolent if not for All For One’s corruption.
However, it remains uncertain whether Shigaraki will indeed choose to confront All For One and aid Deku. His actions will ultimately hinge on his mental fortitude and motivations.
While Shigaraki may have ample reason to oppose All For One, there’s no guarantee that he will align himself with Deku. If Shigaraki does choose to assist Deku, it could not only save the world but also serve as a redemption arc for Shigaraki himself.
