Japan’s renowned punctual train lines often host events at their picturesque stations, including stamp rallies and local markets. However, some stations occasionally collaborate with anime, as seen with the Kaiju No. 8 event at Tachikawa Station on the JR Chūō Main Line.
Announced on April 26 by the Kaiju No. 8 official Twitter account, the collaboration runs from April 26 to June 30. Masaya Fukunishi, the voice of Kafka Hibino, made a personal appearance at the station on April 27.
The highlight of the event is a life-sized statue of Kaiju No. 8 revealed at Tachikawa Station. Fukunishi’s appointment as the ceremonial One-Day Manager at the Kaiju No. 8 store coincided with the statue’s reveal. Photos of Fukunishi posing with the statue were shared on his Ken Production agency’s account on April 27.
Kaiju No. 8 Campaign Excites Fans with Statue, Stamp Rally, and Prizes
In addition to the statue, Kaiju No. 8 enthusiasts visiting Tachikawa Station will encounter life-size character panels, Defense Force member flags, and a virtual stamp rally. Completing the rally earns fans one of three randomly selected pin badges. The stamp rally map can be accessed via this link.
The Kaiju No. 8 X account is hosting a campaign tied to the character panels around Tachikawa Station. Participants who follow the account and post four photos (two from April 26 to May 31 and two from June 1 to June 30) with the hashtags #怪獣討伐 and #怪獣8号 will have a chance to win prizes.
