“Berserk” has had quite a tumultuous journey when it comes to its anime adaptations. It all started back in 1997 with a series that introduced us to the intense world of Guts and the Band of the Hawk.
However, subsequent adaptations failed to meet the lofty standards set by creator Kentaro Miura, leaving many fans disappointed. Despite no official confirmation of a new anime series for this gritty franchise, fans are taking matters into their own hands, envisioning what a second season of the original series could entail.
Fans Re-Create Awesome Berserk Season 2
Adapting “Berserk” to the screen is no easy feat, given Miura’s masterpiece status in the anime world. Beginning his epic tale in the 1980s, Miura dedicated decades to crafting a story of swords, sorcery, and unyielding brutality.
His untimely passing in 2021 left fans mourning, but writer Kouji Mori and the artists at Studio Gaga have pledged to carry on Miura’s legacy, promising to conclude Guts’ journey using his notes and discussions. While there’s no hint of when the final chapter will emerge, the series is slated to resume this month, continuing Guts’ tragic saga.
Enter “Berserk” Season 2, courtesy of Arche Studios, a fan-driven endeavor brimming with love for the franchise. This new episode picks up where the original ’90s series left off, following Guts as he continues his quest for Griffith while traversing the countryside.
Despite surviving the harrowing Eclipse orchestrated by the Godhand, Guts finds that his troubles are far from over.
As of now, no studio has stepped forward to tackle a new anime adaptation of Miura’s magnum opus. The last glimpse anime fans got of Guts, Griffith, Casca, and company was through “Berserk: Memorial Edition,” a series that compiled footage from a trilogy of feature-length films. Should “Berserk” ever officially return to the small screen, fans’ expectations would undoubtedly reach stratospheric heights.
