The Detroit Lions have revealed their long-awaited new uniforms for the upcoming season, providing a fresh look for the defending NFC North champions.
The reveal, accompanied by a voiceover from Lions legend Barry Sanders, introduced three new uniforms, including a striking black jersey that pays homage to the team’s identity as part of the “black and blue” division.
Hours prior to the official revealing, the new uniforms were leaked on social media, but the Lions first shared them with season ticket holders at an exclusive event.
The home uniform pays tribute to the Lions’ “glory” years with Sanders in the 1990s, while the road jerseys feature “Detroit” emblazoned across the chest and blue pants, departing from the traditional silver bottoms.
Ron Wood, president of the Lions, had previously hinted at the new uniforms, describing them as a blend of honoring the team’s traditional colors with modern updates.
The introduction of different pant options provides the team with versatility throughout the season, offering fans a range of new looks to anticipate.
