Will Ospreay made waves last year when he joined AEW on a full-time basis and won over AEW President Tony Khan with his skill and potential?
After completing his duties with NJPW, Ospreay announced during AEW Full Gear that he was committed to AEW. This decision was taken after weighing offers from other significant promotions, including WWE.
Will Ospreay’s Inspiring Journey
During his latest visit on Hey! (EW), Ospreay had an open discussion with RJ City in which he disclosed a very private part of his life: his struggles with studying. He discussed his experiences with ADHD and dyslexia and how they impacted his schooling and professional goals.
Despite the challenges, Ospreay is adamant about motivating people going through a similar situation. He was honest enough to acknowledge that he needed help to read his AEW contract because of dyslexia but emphasized that his journey and achievements serve as a testament to overcoming adversity.
I didn’t learn a lot about who I was in the educational system until after I left. I, therefore, did not get any additional time. I actually required help with a lot of things during my education, and I wasn’t the only one—a large number of people did, too.
After learning so much about myself, I just want to let others know that, yes, I do have autism. I also suffer from ADHD. I have severe dyslexia. I’m not a reader. I needed someone to read my contract to me. It really is quite embarrassing, dude. It is, in fact.
However, I believe that the reason I am where I am now is all these things that make me who I am, and I want to inspire people. So, like, a lot of people don’t take risks on people that do have autism around my area. I would like to hope that seeing me doing this stuff does inspire other people.”
Despite his challenges, Ospreay has already made a significant impact in AEW and is gearing up for an epic showdown against Bryan Danielson at AEW Dynasty, promising fans an electrifying match to remember.
