Billie Eilish revealed on Monday that her long-awaited third studio album, “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” is set to debut on May 17. Taking to Instagram, she revealed the album cover featuring herself floating in water after being thrust out of a door.
In her caption, Eilish declared her decision not to release any singles ahead of the album drop.
“I wanna give it to you all at once,” she captioned the image. “I truly could not be more proud of this album.”
Eilish teamed up with her brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, on “Hit Me Hard and Soft.” The duo, who recently won their second Oscar for their hit “What Was I Made For?” from the movie “Barbie,” solidified Eilish’s position as the youngest individual ever to clinch two Oscars in a career.
At just 22 years old, she continues to make waves in the music industry.
Earlier this month, Eilish added her signature to a new open letter presented by the Artist Rights Alliance nonprofit.
The letter urges AI tech companies, developers, and digital music platforms to refrain from using artificial intelligence in ways that undermine or diminish the rights of human artists.
As stated in the letter, all physical editions of “Hit Me Hard and Soft” will contain identical tracklists and will be crafted from 100% recyclable materials, as per a press release from Eilish.
