Don Lemon and his longtime partner Tim Malone have tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony held in New York City. The former CNN anchor and his fiancé exchanged vows on Saturday, April 6.
Despite his usual last-minute approach, Lemon entrusted the wedding planning to Malone, acknowledging his partner’s meticulous organisational skills.
The intimate ceremony took place at the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan and was officiated by Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, who is a close friend of the couple.
Approximately 140 guests attended the celebration, which incorporated marriage customs from both Lemon and Malone’s backgrounds. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds honored tradition by jumping over a broom, a symbolic gesture rooted in the history of enslaved people in the American South.
For their reception, Lemon and Malone hosted their guests at Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar, where they had their first date, for the entire weekend. Among the attendees were notable figures such as Clive Davis, Joy Behar, Matt Laur, and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin.
Leading up to their big day, Lemon and Malone shared glimpses of their pre-wedding festivities on social media, including a heartfelt pre-wedding call from Vice President Kamala Harris.
Lemon also shared an adorable photo of tuxedos and harnesses for their three dogs, who were also part of the celebration. The couple, who began dating in 2016 after meeting at Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York, announced their engagement in 2019.
